Haier HPY08XCM Portable Air Conditioner, 8000-BTU

Air conditioner will never go below 80 degrees and it is pretty loud. Arrived with a broken piece, but seller promptly sent out a replacement part.

It works as well as expected

The HPY08XCM is fine - as long as you don't try to use it in a sleeping room.It so loud that you could not possibly sleep in the same room.We measured it at 75 db.It sounds like there is a lawn mower in your room.

It works pretty good just a little noizy but it works for it to be in a home in Texas

This is an AC - not central air. It isn't silent by any means but the noise is no deal breaker. I will sleep with it just fine, and 2 of my three children just fell asleep with it running (the third is trying desperately to keep her eyes open for the rest of the movie!) Personally, I feel that this is only slightly louder than my new window AC, and I would prefer a noisy AC over whining about the heat any day.My 240 SF bedroom was a hot and sticky 82 degrees less than 20 minutes ago. Now it is 76.This is a great little unit perfect for a smaller space. I only have one window in my bedroom, and I like to be able to open it when we have a nice ocean breeze...so I skipped the AC in my room....until a good friend's Mom gifted me with this glorious little appliance earlier today. I'm in New England, so I very well may be turning on my heat within the next week. For now, I will enjoy being able to quickly and easily go from using the AC to having the window open for a nice breeze.
