Read this if CUSTOMER SERVICE is important to you!
At the root of just about every electronic purchase on line is the question of "if I have a problem, I wonder how well customer sevice will address my issue." Let me tell you this: I have now been absolutely blown away by the Goodsman customer service team. My first phone call to them made me feel like I was their most important customer and their goal was my satisfaction with their products.I purchased 2 120 watt power packs to address my landscaping lighting needs. I promptly received them and hooked up my lights. Instalation was a snap, directions and programming as easy. Great product! But, not long afterwards the photo sensor / timer stopped working on one unit. A quick call to Amazon and a replacement unit was here the next day. Not bad, no fuss, no issues and as I hoped it would be from Amazon customer service.Well, 8 months later the replacement Goodsman sent me stopped working. I dreaded calling their customer service number figuring I would have an issue getting satisfaction from them since this was a second replacement request.I was amazed at how well my call was received! Goodsman did the purchase verification and called me back the THE NEXT DAY! He arranged for return shipping and explained they would do diagnostics on the unit and let me know. Fair enough and understandable. In the same conversation I informed the Goodsman Customer rep of a slight issue on the other unit's door hinge. The first words out of the rep were "that's not what we want for our customers, send it back to us as well." What? Are you kidding? Not what I was asking Goodsman to do... but, ok! The rep told me it would be a few days once they received the units to evaluate and he would give me a call. Ok, I admit I was feeling pretty good at this point about how Goodsman's rep was treating me; but call me back in a few days? Come on who does that anymore? Real customer service is hard to find. You could have blown me over with a feather when Goodsman's rep called me this morning! I return mailed the units on a Tuesday and received Goodsman's call on the following Wednesday with a holiday Monday in between. Stunning customer service!I was informed BOTH units would replaced and would be in the mail today! The Goodsman rep made it very clear my satisfaction was his goal and part of their company culture. For me customer service is a big piece in my decision making process when I read reviews. Goodsman nailed it! I Highly recommend them because they stand behind their product and know how to deliver excellent customer service. The only thing I can say now is I wish I had bought my landscaping lights from them as well!

It works well.
This transformer has a simple timer! That’s what I wanted. Some timers are called Astro timers. They turn the lights on according to the area you live in n. This one has a clock timer so you can set any time of day on or off. Also has a dusk to dawn eye that’s on a cable so you can mount it inside or under cover and extend the dusk to dawn eye to the outside! Watts are a little low but with led’s that’s not a big problem. The price is pretty good.

A defective product and terrible customer satisfation
I recently installed a new Goodsmann 200 watt low voltage transformer with two strings of new landscape lights totaling 149 watts along with new wire. On the fourth night, the lights failed to turn on. I switched the selector knob around and lights popped on – I chalked it up as a fluke. Several nights later, the same thing happened. Again, I switched the selector knob around and the lights popped on again – started getting concerned. At two and a half weeks, they again would not come on. This time, nothing I tried would get the lights to activate. The unit was getting power, as evidenced by the LED lights being on and the transformer humming when in the always on position, but there was no power coming off the contacts, proven by a voltmeter. It was clear that the unit was suffering from a major malfunction. At this point, I contacted Goodsmann and asked for one of three things to happen: 1) assist me in diagnosing and fixing my unit, 2) provide me a replacement unit, or 3) give me my money back. In that request I provided a detailed set of all facts that described my exact set up and what I had done to date for diagnosis.Goodsmann personnel responded promptly and over several emails asked many questions, many of which could and should have been answered by reading my original request for assistance. But fine, I answered their questions again. They eventually asked for a photo of the unit plugged in, in the always on position and me proving with a voltmeter that there was no power being output. I answered all questions asked, in detail, and provided the requested photo as well as a copy of my sales receipt proving this was in fact a brand new unit. After over a week of back and forth, the Goodsmann response was to request that I ship the unit to them at my expense and they would “try to fix it”. I researched the cost to do so on the USPS and UPS web sites and determined I was looking at a minimum of $20 USD to ship a 12 lb device, plus other miscellaneous expenses. I was not willing to invest another 25% of the original cost of the unit on the mere hope that they would fix whatever was defective in their product. Not to mention be without lights for an indefinite period of time – who knows how long that entire process would have taken. I requested instead that they send me a pre-paid shipping label and I would gladly pack the unit for safe travel and ship it back to them for either replacement or refund – their choice. It was crickets after that – no further communication came from the company. It became abundantly clear then that Goodsmann had no intention of satisfying me as their customer, and no desire to provide me a solution to what was proven to be a defective product. I went out and purchased a competitor’s product, installed it and my lights have been working fine ever since.UPDATE: The manufacturer ultimately relented and sent me a postage paid return shipping label. After sending the defective unit back, I was provided a full refund of the purchase price.
