The Student Bible Atlas [Dowley, Tim] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Student Bible Atlas Review: Using for bible teaching for children. - Meeting my needs for Bible history Review: Great Maps To Follow Biblical Accounts! - For $13 this is a great buy. The atlas is 10.5 x 7.75", a slender book with 32 pages and 29 maps. The Maps fill the pages, and the place names and physical features are easy to read. The atlas prioritizes maps over text, and there is just enough text to know what the map shows you (and the relevant Scripture references for that map, i.e., Genesis 27-46 for Map 3, Abraham's Family in Canaan). I bought this hoping it would be an easier reference to check for major maps than an exhaustive bible atlas, and it does that very well. Great maps!

Excellent companion for Bible study
This book is an excellent companion to a historical Bible study. It allows my children to easily see lands and cities mentioned in the Bible and compare them to modern day. It helps us all connect the dots on what things used to look like and where they would be today.

Erroneously indexed, Easy to read, Incomplete, nice graphics
First the bad. It would be helpful to have the pages that include, geography mentioned in Moses' books, then those in Joshua's war including his advance with arrows, and then Judges, and then the other maps. There are a lot of cities that are left out. You have to pen them in yourself from more comprehensive maps. Chronological errors: (Dan is listed in Map6 and it was not named Dan at that time). Further when I look in the index, the page numbers are wrong: Perea lists 19:7G, and is actually 22:7G, Hazor lists a bunch, all of which are wrong except 7:3N. One that is wrong is 10:3F, but is actually 12:3F. So it wastes a lot of time. Etc. Missing a graphic showing all key rivers, feeders, wadis with names. Beautiful maps. Good fonts. Nice intros to the maps. Cheap and you get what you pay for so I only docked them one star. In spite of the negatives, still a good value purchase.

great maps
This is a short book, but it has some great maps. As a visual learner this has been a great tool for understanding where on Earth things were happening in the Bible. I wish I had this years ago. Even has maps of empires including Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greek, and Roman. Nice maps of Paul's travels too.

Just right!
I was searching for an atlas that was not complicated and had a nice selection of maps. Found it! This was purchased for an adult.
