Purchased this to replace a Little Bear P-1. The difference is very noticeable in every aspect. I rolled a GE JAN 5670 tube from the beginning so I cant comment on the stock tube. My setup is as follows: 2007 Mac Mini with all Lossless files on a 1TB fire-wire hd - V-Link, to DAC-01A - tube output - Yamaha SS receiver- Def Tech BP6 and Klipsch 12in sub. Music sounds amazing with the tube effect and solid state power amplification. Haven't tried the solid state output yet as i really purchased for the tube output. I have plugged my turntable into the RCA inputs and I am listening to y LP's all over again. The DAC provides a very wide, detailed sound-stage and the tube effect blends the bass so well i forget the giant sub-woofer in the corner. Would recommend to anyone looking at spending up to $500.00 on a tube DAC.
