Q: can you hook this to an indoor antenna that already has an amplifier built in?

Probably not. Most amplified indoor antennas (the tabletop versions or the ones that attach to the TV) have their own power supplies or use the USB port on the TV, and I don't know of any that would be compatible with a power-over-coax device like this. This unit is meant to send 12 volts DC over the incoming antenna coax cable either to a remote amplified signal splitter or an outdoor antenna amplifier. It's really an accessory to Channelmaster's line of these products. So, you'll have to look at your amplified antenna to see if it uses 12v DC with the correct polarity, and has a coax power input connector.
