Gear Sea Passage Paddle

I wanted a new paddle to replace the Harmony paddle I currently own ( my daughters outgrew her paddle). I looked on-line and wanted a similar paddle and saw this one. When it arrived it was packaged well and I couldn't wait to get out on the water with it. One of the first things I noticed during unboxing is that the part where your hands on the handle is oval and fit really nice. Also I held the old and new paddles and could feel that the new one was lighter despite it being longer and having a larger paddle surface area. It felt great on the water. I went on a 3 hour paddles and really enjoyed it (coincidentally my daughter liked my old Harmony as well). It's a little longer than my old paddle and really moved the boat along swiftly and without any more effort.

The paddles are lightweight and we are able to paddle for 6-10 miles with less strain on our bodies. These were recommended by a kayaking buddy and we are so glad we bought them.

The paddle seemed sturdy enough when I received it. It was comfortable to use. I liked that the blades had a bit more surface area than most other paddles I used. I also liked the blade angle adjustment. One day after several months of use I heard a sharp crack while paddling. I could see no problem with the paddle. A few weeks later one of the blades quietly dropped out mid stroke and disappeared into the water. I inspected the tube end where the blade had been. There was no remnant of the blade inside. I only saw some small traces of adhesive. I suspect that the blade had not had sufficient adhesive or it had failed to bond to the tube for some reason. The return period has elapsed so I am going to have to make a warranty claim with the manufacturer. I like the paddle enough to give it a second try if they will replaced it.

Only half the paddle was shipped, but that half seemed to be decent quality. More hassle than it was worth.
