Worth the money. Sounded average when I first installed it. 20 to 30 hrs later of break in time, it sounds better than my original Stanton 681eee,, although it has many hours on it and probably needed replaced.

This stylus sounds amazing. Honestly, I was somewhat concerned about just what I was going to receive. I've read so many different opinions on various stylus for the Stanton 681 EEE cartridge that ranged from bad quality to bad sounding. In fact, I purchased a stylus from LP Gear several years ago that sounds so muddy and muffled, I went back the original old stylus that was in the cartridge from the 1975 era.When I installed this Jico stylus onto my Dual 1229 TT, the first LP I played, The Band : Stage Fright, I heard more details than I ever did before. And I've owned this album since the day it was released, so, I've heard it many times.I'm looking forward to playing some newly pressed records from my collection. And, just to add a comment on the 1229 turntable, of the two other TT's I use in my home; a Technics 1200 with an AT VM540 and a MMF 5.3 with an Ortifon Blue, it's hard to beat the sound from the Dual 1229 with the Stanton 681 EEE cartridge. It is also running through a PS Audio pre and a Jolida EL34 amp with Heresy III speakers with a Definitive 15" sub. I get blown away every time, and this stylus just pushed that feeling even further.
