Bandai Hobby SD BB Senshi #246 Strike Gundam Gundam Seed Model Kit

Prior to this set, I haven't built any Gundam models in well over a decade. I decided to get back into the hobby and the SD Gundam line is very good to introduce (or reintroduce) people to the hobby. The kit is simple to put together and has a set of decals. The set does look decent without any paint, but as with most Gundam models, paint and panel lining make this thing look great. The instructions are in Japanese but for those who can't read Japanese, are nicely illustrated. I really like that these SD Gundam models are simple to put together but still impressive when completed. A child could easily put one of these together with no issues.Strike Gundam is the "hero" Gundam from the series Gundam Seed. This kit includes the rifle and shield that are illustrated on the box. Also included are two knives that were seldom used in the show. The knives don't store in the body anywhere, like they do in the show. It looks really good and the articulation is much better than I expected. I picked up a set of Gundam Markers in Seed colors in order to paint and panel line the model - the colors are completely show accurate and the finished product looks amazing.

A must have for any model builder gundam or otherwise. it took me about an hour to complete that's including panel lines. I've done a couple of gundams but not any SD models but after this one I'll have to reconsider the SD line they might just be my favorites and don't let the size deceive you there is a lot of detail in these little guys.The shipping was faster than expected to get here basically two days after I orderedNot a word of caution just to let you guys know this is the strike plain and simple although it does have a place in the back where you can attach the strike packs its just the strike a shield one rifle and two Snyder daggers that pleases me all the more because that's all I wanted anyway.

This little guy just arrived yesterday! He took a while to get here, but that was expected as it came from Japan. That said, it did arrive about a week ahead of the expected date. It was packaged nicely and appears to have made the trip unharmed. Can't wait to put him together. My 5 year old daughter watched me put the RX-78-2 SD one together and said she wants to help with this one :)Looking forward to sharing that experience with her!

This does have the characteristic of Strike gundam from the seed.Rilfe and the shield does look good.Fun to build and finished product look good as is.

Such a fun little kit to build! Has good articulation for an SD model and looks great even without paint or panel lining. You will have to do both though for it to look like the box art (but then most models need it so that's nothing new).
