Works perfectly.
I have 2 conference rooms with projectors installed on the ceiling. The first wireless units we purchased were USB type transmitters. I found out after the fact that these required line of sight connection. This made installing above a false ceiling unsupported and caused issues with loss of signal. This unit does not have the line of sight requirement. Also with the USB adapter, I had customers and vendors that were not able to use the projector because of IT restrictions on installing drivers on their laptops. With this unit, no drivers need to be installed. If a laptop has Display Port or HDMI output I simply plug and go. I have a Display Port to HDMI adapter that I use with the transmitter. VGA is not supported. Some of the reviews mentioned that the transmitter gets hot, and the manual also states this. To date mine runs warm, but not to the point where I have been concerned with it. Please note that the transmitter draws power from a USB port, the cable is included. Without the USB power the transmitter will not work. You can use a power adapter for USB devices, that not include.

Works as advertised
The directions could be a little clearer, though they are pretty good. I had some difficulty figuring out that in addition to plugging in the transmitter into the HDMI port, I also needed to install a 2nd cable from the USB to the transmitter to power the transmitter. Once I figured that out, all has worked well. There is a slight delay from the re-transmitting of the screen from the PC display, so there may be some disorientation with what appears to be lagging response if you plan to transmit your gaming experience to the big screen, as I am doing.

mixed feelings, didn't do what I wanted , but still came in handy
I bought this device to set up my direct tv to a projector, the projector was 12 feet away, it could not get a signal, I manipulated it several ways to squeeze every inch of cable I had in my reciever to make it work, I got to about 10.5ft still nothing, it would not work, instead I used it for my living room flat screen, was able to rearrange my room and free up my tv from its once imprisoned position, it worked fine 10ft exactly and closer, the advertised distance/range for this device is not what is advertised, but it still came in handy for the smaller living areas, as long as your within 10ft of unobstructed space, it works great, if you need more range than that, this is not the device for you

Works excellent but dongle gets very hot
The setup is a breeze - plug in the TV to the receiver's HDMI port, plug in the dongle to the computer's HDMI port and USB, and it starts working. I got resolutions to 1080p without an issue, from 30 feet away and with the receiver inside a cabinet. The image was crystal clear. My test setup has only stereo sound so I did not test any surround options. My only issue is that after using it for an hour, the dongle gets uncomfortably hot, and I suspect that will lead to its eventual failure. For this reason, I will probably return it.

It does what it's suppose to do, but...
I bought this with the intention of playing my PS3 on my PC monitor while my wife watched TV (if ANYONE knows a very easy way to do this without moving my PS3/xbox, let me know please). To be fair, the product works and works well, it's downfall is its loss in quality. While playing games, it seems to work, minor pixalation. While in the PS3 menu screen, you can clearly see how it degrades the image quality. Playing videos such as netflix, looks pretty clear on my TV, but on this device it is grainy and hard to watch. The monitor is not an issue, I have an Asus VG248QE, which is a great monitor. Purchasing the additional HDMI dongle is crazy expensive and I wouldn't bother. Not very familiar with how HDMI connections work and I did not realize that the dongle needed to be powered via USB (not a huge issue for me as I used the PS3 usb to power it). Just a heads up.Also found that the receiver device gets pretty warm, not to the point where you should be cautious, but keep well ventilated and not for small confined rooms.Update: I would avoid this item for its price. It cuts in and out, video quality grainy.

Does not seem to work if stripping audio from HDMI
I suspect my need is quite different than most. I have an HDMI out from my computer that I route to two different monitors for my church. I use a stripper box to strip the audio from the feed to the house monitor and send the audio signal to my sound board. The line to the house feed is what I was hoping to use the Atlona for. It would not work for me. I lost my audio (because the stripping box needs to see a monitor before it works and for some reason the Atlona does not provide this info back. I have not been able to get a workable solution yet. I did not try it in any other configuration.

How did I get along without it?
A wireless HDMI offering performance as good or better than the best HDMI Monster cable I have used but without the cable! This is a fantastic product which you can use either to hook up your big screen TV to your PC to wirelessly stream Netflix, HULU, or Blue Ray movies in full HDMI and 7.1 surround sound from as far away as 30 feet. How did I get along without it all of these years? The Atlona completely eliminates all of those messy, thick, long, difficult to handle, VERY EXPENSIVE Monster cables. The technology is so good that I am considering cancelling DirectTV since wirelessly streaming high def from my PC over the internet is a lot less expensive than paying $150 a month to DirectTV. In with Atlona and out with Monster and DirectTV. Thank you LINKCAST.

Great video & audio but ...
I use this to broadcast my security cameras video and audio to monitors in other rooms. It works great as long as the signal doesn't have to go through walls. I had to run an HDMI extension cable so that the signal could be sent unobscured to another room. Once that was set up the video and audio is very good. BUT there's a huge catch that may not apply to everyone. You can't have 1 transmitter sending a signal to multiple receivers. It appears that the receiver and transmitter can only be synced to 1 device. So if you are trying to use it as a wireless splitter, it will not work at all for this purpose. Otherwise I love this as a 1 to 1 wireless device.
