Big Improvement
I've been buying Dremel PLA for years and this new version shows that they've been listening to customer feedback. More filament per spool, better packaging (including a resealable bag with desiccant), no breakages so far, and good print quality. Fits the 3D40 perfectly. (Seems to print better using a higher nozzle temp than I'm used to with PLA - closer to 230 deg C)

There's cheaper filament, I stick to the Dremel branded filament for my 3D45 printer.
With the price of my Dremel Digilab 3D45 printer, I figure it's best to stick with the Dremel branded filament, though there are cheaper options that probably work just as well. The RFID on the spool makes loading or switiching filament simple as the printer automatically detects and configures the filament settings when the spool is loaded.

breakage
I'm on my 5th 3d printer, I've used miles of filament over the years, very rarely have I had filament break during a print, until now. Literally every print gets interrupted because this material breaks, my printers are in an environmentally controlled machine shop, I store my materials in sealed drums with desiccant so it's not a temperature issue, maybe either old material or too low humidity issue, never seen this before.

Overpriced
The pla works well with the Dremel 3D40 but it's way overpriced for what it is.

fits the Dremel cabinet
Dremel uses a smaller reel which makes this more expensive than other.

Extra filament is too heavy.
Just a warning: Itโs nice to have a little more available on the spool but the extra weight seems to stall the machine causing failed prints. Took me two days of trial and error to find out that installing this spool properly into the spool compartment of my 3D45 is what was causing the jams which was extremely frustrating. Had to set the dremel brand spool on an external holder and let the filament run through the opening on top the device in order to get the print to work.

If you own a Dremel 3D printer you have to use their filament A spool of this size is great value under $40.00

Filament worked well ๐

For we Canucks, Dremel PLA filament is becoming harder to acquire. My long term supplier has quit offering it as a result. It is not cheap, but is a consistently reliable filament, although the spools are much smaller than with other brands, hence the high price. Luckily, Amazon was able to deliver the filament quickly and lived up to its promised delivery date - a fact that is often not often met of late. (The "guaranteed delivery date" should be ignored most of the time these days). I recommend Amazon as a supplier of Dremel filament for Canadians.
