Works great on flat surfaces and with regular clean outs
I had about 20 windows in a new house where the contractor left the sheetrock right against the window casing. I used this tool to expose the gap between the studs/headers and the window casing so that I could insulate and finish the installations.Overall, the tool worked very well and reduced the need to try to roto-zip with one hand and vaccuum with another. That said, several windows were an 1/8 to 3/16 prone from flat and lots of dust kicked out when the attachment couldn't press against a flat surface. I also had to clean the filter a couple times per window to keep it working. If I had to design one of these, I'd add an option to connect my shop vac hose to the blower on this unit. Together, that would be an awesome accessory.

Works, but requires lots of practice to use successfully
This product works but needs lots of practice and a disclaimer by RotoZip.The device works but is limited to cutting in small enclosed spaces because the small fan has limited ability to create vacuum to draw in cutting dust. The unit must be placed and held securelyflush against the work surface to create the vacuum.I used this on a small drywall project at home. It kept dust under control but only when used as follows:When cutting drywall, the dust vault head must be placed flush against the drywall surface quickly and with high pressure. If you slightly tilt or lift the head off the drywall surface while cutting, it will produce a large and fast moving dust cloud covering you with drywall dust. The dust cloud shoots out about 2 feet from the drywall and then begins to cover everything in the room with white powder. Also, when cutting drywall, the dust pours out of the kerf cut opening as you move along making your cut. So you need to move quickly and maintain the correct angle and pressure against the drywall as you follow the electrical box.To use the dust vault successfully requires practice. If you have less than a dozen holes to cut in drywall, I would recommend using a jab saw.

RotoZip Saw and accessories (Dust Vault)
As a proud owner of a RotoZip Saw the first cut you make - you will realize how LOUD and the amount of sheet rock dust this saw will produce. Well the Dust Vault will AID in both noise reduction and sheet rock dust - more on the dust but does help with some in reducing the high pitch noise the saw makes.

Gets the job done

Does a fair job of containing dust when cutting.
Did a fair job of containing dust while cutting Sheetrock. The attachment makes it difficult to see where the cutting bit is.

Did not fit my 1/4 inch diamond plated bit
I intended to use this product for cutting plaster with my 1/4 inch diamond plated. However, it did not fit with this bit and I was forced to use smaller bits that would break often. The dust was reduced some, but not enough to prevent me from massive cleaning. Because of this, I decided to just finish the job without the attachment so I could use the 1/4 inch bit for easier cuts.
