Pretty much exactly what it is.
Mine didn't look like the picture however it is of a roughly same size, although roundish and quite misshapen. It is wax however so I don't expect it does well keeping it's shape during shipping.Using mine to coat thread for hand sewing and for this purpose it certainly works really well and does the job of keeping thread knot free beautifully.

Good for detangling thread
For those that dont know, you pull/slide thread through this and it can help stop threads knotting when hand sewing. Tailors trick.
