Swann Imitation Dummy Security Camera Waterproof Design Easy Installation

I buy it for the security of the house and it works perfectly good night vision.

This works really good! We have a street light near the front of our house and it shows everything in color. We also have these in dark areas and they work great there as well. We have gone thru three different brands over the years and this is absolutely the best camera for us.

I have a Swann NVR-8580 and purchased this camera to add to my recorder. The firmware in this camera does not allow it to be configured within the NVR. I contacted Swann Support to confirm this. It installs locked (configuration settings greyed out) and the camera’s settings are factory set. No adjustments to camera sensitivity, exclusion zones, camera triggers or image enhancement. All of my other Swann camera’s can be configured within the recorder. In addition, all of my other Swann 4K camera’s have sturdy metal cases and mounts. This camera is plastic, and will never hold up like a metal camera out in the elements. I returned mine the same day I got it. It’s junk, don’t waste your money.

I have ordered this product in the past. Have not had any break-ins so I'll assume the signage has been effective. This is my 3rd Swann sign purchase in the past 15 years. I have to replace about every 8 years because the Arizona sun fades the sign.. especially the red which deteriorates first. My only negative that might be eliminated if the sign were just black and white. The sign itself holds up well, but I also use a 1/2" piece of PVC pipe to use in place of the not so sturdy supplied stand. Will buy again in 8 years....

Definitely looks like a real security camera. Just wish it had some fake wires on it to make it look like it was plugged into something, or a battery to operate a blinking red light to make it look like it's "on", like most of the other fake security cameras on Amazon.

I found this camera security system frustrating for the lack of instructions. I had so many questions before installing this because they don't supply me with the instructions. I contacted Swann and they sent a link to download the instructions into my computer or to print them. I had to print 140 pages. It bothers me that I spent this much money on a security system and they decide to save money by not including a manuel. After reading and studying the instructions, I find there are still unanswered questions. Another thing that bothered me about this Swann security system is, it has two wires coming from the camera. One wire is to hook up the CAT cable that comes with the system. The other wire is a power wire in case you want to hook it up to power. They don't include a power cable nor do they include a cap to put on the power cable if you chose not to hook it up to power. In my case, I just hooked it up to the CAT cable and don't see any need to hook it up to a power cable. Swann should have supplied me with the needed power cable or at the very least to supply me with a cap to put on the power cable that is attached to the camera to protect it from the elements. I find the app easy to use and I like being notified when there is any movement. I do get a lot of notifications of movement and most of the time there is nothing there. This is my first security system so I don't have anything to compare it to. I am rating it 3 out of 5 stars because they didn't include a manuel and I had to contact them, get past the voice response unit and talk to a human before being sent the link for the manuel. It's a good thing I had a lot of ink and paper to print out the 140 page manuel. I am also rating it 3 out of 5 stars because they didn't supply a power cable or caps to cap off the power cable. Because of these things I feel like they sold me an incomplete security system.

I live and manage a small building in the LA Southside, its always been generally safe place but since the pandemic there were a few car break-ins and safety concerns in general. Unfortunately I had to go through 3 different companies before finding a system that was big enough and robust enough to actually make a difference. This system from Swann has been an absolute god send. We’ve had it up for a week now and its been working perfectly. The image is super clear and the audio is crisp and easy to understand AND its already helped prevent some unruly behavior on our block. Maybe for a house you would only need 1-2 cameras but having this entire kit available covers our whole building and if I need to I can expand with a few more cameras from Swann. I’ve had a DVR system before and I think NVR is the better choice, especially these Swann ones, they’re great and have never failed me. So far so good, hoping we can keep our neighborhood safe with Swanns help.

Installation was a breeze, set up was automatic, were to point it was the only problem. Readjusted it twice to get the best view, Zoom in is fantastic.
