I forgot that my projector was once good. When these bulbs fail they do so slowly so I didn't notice the fading until the lamp finally went out entirely. This new lamp was so cheap I hardly expected it to you make a difference. However, the color, detail and luminosity of this lamp is remarkable. What a night and day difference. If you feel like your projector is "faded", buy this lamp.

Faulty Lamps
Bulb needs to be replaced again (2nd time in 2 months). It appears that they only work for about 30 days then blow out.

Does not WORK!!!!
I called customer service and a recording told me to leave a message and they'll call back within next SEVERAL HOURS. I called Hitachi Customers Support and they said ALL HITACHI products need Hitachi made replacements. Generic crap like this bulb won't work. Extremely pissed about the misleading info in the product description. "Designed and Manufactured for Hitchai". Don't buy this.
