Flat like a folding lawn chair you use out side. You could slide in a closet or behind something.

Would a skilled seamstress/decorator be able to remove the padded seat for laundering, not ruining chair??

By removing the bolts in the chair's base you would be able to take it apart and remove the seat cushion.

I would say it’s more like a repellent cotton. It’s more cotton than polyester like a wind breaker. Easy to wipe clean, would be a pain in the butt to try and disassemble the chair to wash the cushion though
