SunSun HW-5000 UV 9W 4-Stage External Canister Filter, 1215gph, White, One Size

Using on my marine aquarium as always ran canister filters, easy to set up, media trays are huge, previously ran 2 2000l ph canisters all media went in and then some, water quality is amazing, high flow has made my wave makers redundant, set uv filter for two hours per day, good flow rate for oxygen exchange. Really pleased one week in.

After watching various reviews - some good some not so good I decided to buy and try. What a surprise. Well made and easy to set up. Arrived within 2 days. Now installed on one of my aquariums. Within hours the water is crystal clear whereas the other large aquarium with an fx6 is without doubt not so clear.The filter came with a uk style plug and on the control panel the lettering is in English.Should I buy another…most certainly.

This filter has been very good, good flow rate, easy clean, holds a good amount of media, I have two of these, and one recently has not kept water clear, and I found that a little trap door inside base had popped open allowing water to bypass filter baskets, comes in through uv through popped up trap door and back out through pump, every time I pop the thing shut it pops open again, I am going to have to resort to sticking it down with some very sticky underwater tape, so SunSun, How are you meant to resolve this issue?

Excellent product

I have a Fluval FX6 one end and this sunsun 5000 the other. The sunsun without doubt competes with the Fluval if not slightly better. Very easy to setup, has massive media baskets and has amazing flow. It is a tad noisy even in my cabinet I am considering soundproofing. But a very good filter (so far) overall.
