Great Starting platform for Upgrading
The body is nice, but with some slight finish imperfections. The Neck did need some work. 3 high frets needed to to be re-seated. Then I leveled all the frets and touched up the beveled ends. I took the neck off to do the fret work. While removing the neck I did notice that the Neck Pocket wasn't as tight as it could have been. Not terrible, but it could have been tighter. The Neck angle was OK though. The fretboard was also OK, as was the bone Nut. I did touch up the Nut slots a bit.The Bridge is crap. Thin cheap, bad machining. Junk. The Tuners on not terrible, but not great either. They feel smooth enough, but do not hold tune very well. The pickups are "just" OK. Nothing special. The Bridge PU is thin and harsh. The neck PU is OK but bland.Electronics are cheap, but they do the job...for now. Now, what I did to make this cheap blah, but nice looking guitar into a real player.. First, the Neck. Along with the fretwork, I sanded off that horrible thick, sticky tinted poly on the back of the neck and headstock. Now, the neck feels and plays really nice!. I replaced the tuners with Wilkinson "WJ-55" 6 in-line Vintage Strat/Tele Tuners. Can be found on Amazon for $30. Not only do they look more authentic, they actually hold tune!. I replaced the bridge with a Wilkinson "WTB" Vintage Tele bridge. Huge improvement. Amazon $21.. I replaced the Pickups with a set of Dragonfire "Texas Blues". $60.Final assessment:You can clean up the fretwork and call it a day and you will have a decent "Starter" guitar.Or, you can upgrade and have a really nice guitar that equals or IMHO is better than the Squire CV Thinline Telecaster, for $250. The Squire goes for $450.Cost breakdown.Firefly FFTH Guitar on Amazon $137.Dragonfire Texas Blues Pickup set $60.Wilkinson WS-55 Tuners on Amazon $30.Wilkinson WTB Bridge on Amazon $21.My labor $ FreeTotal cost $248.00

Wow! This Tele Style Guitar Over Delivers Considering It's Low Price Point
This Firefly Telecaster Style Guitar has to be the best bang for the buck bar none for this Tele style electric guitar. I'm pretty amazed on how the craftsmanship of this instrument is. I honestly expected some finishing issues or sharp fret ends but, NOPE... it was literally perfect and it's actually quite well made. The only thing I had to do was make a bridge adjustment for an intonation adjustment because at the 12th fret the notes ran slightly sharp! Before this guitar arrived I thought that I probably would have to replace the pickups but as of right now I'm really liking these stock pickups. I this isn't a professional quality instrument but for only $140 shipped to my door it performs like an instrument that would have cost 3x-4x as much. I have no idea how Firefly can make any profit on these guitars because seriously... you cannot even buy a decent DIY guitar kit in this price range and have it look and sound as good as this one does.

Great Guitar if you have some basic setup skills.
The Guitar is beautiful. The only cosmetic flaw i found is a small stain under the finish in the neck. Maybe a small wood knot?? Out of the box the intonation was dead on as tele's go. I always replace the strings first thing with 9.5XLs. I did find a couple frets slightly higher. Tapped them in, leveled with a block and polished to get them perfect. It now plays like butter! Like any $600+ guitar. Some people report that the pickups are weak. I find them to be a good representation of a vintage tele pickup. They are indeed Alnico. As such have a sweet vintage tone. If you want more punch and warmth, simply raise the closer to the strings. It is not intended to be a Metal Head Guitar. Overall it is a unbelievable deal. You can't touch a Mahogany Thinline under $600. I have bought Squire guitars at 3 times this price an still had to do the same setup work.

It's a $136 guitar
Yeah I get it quarantine but the delay in shipping was a joke, didn't care for how dusty & filthy it was out of the box, needed action adjusted as the string height was pretty high, intonation? could only get so close and I'm not about to start dropping $ into mods so forget that. The finish was pretty good one slight blemish once I cleaned all the dusty grime off, the neck is straight and smooth -no fret sprout- but it is skinny and I don't have ham hocks for hands so that surprised me. The strings and neck were filthy and appears that they strung it with the cheapest tinny sounding rejects they could find, they're really dirty left my fingers fire soot black. I watched many reviews about these guitars and that's what decided me to try one. All in all if your looking for a alright guitar for under $150 give them a try, if your looking for a American Telecaster look again this isn't that guitar. It plays ok, sounds pretty good, and cost's very little, a good beater guitar nothing special. Make a great gift for someone wanting to learn, fun to mess with for someone like myself.

Great deal
I’ve been playing guitar for over thirty years and I’m fortunate enough to have a wonderful collection from very expensive to to entry level and this guitar is great I originally bought the firefly for my son to start on but he went a different way and I ended up keeping it and I just love it it’s very well made and has a great sound and of course a great priceNow you do need to keep in mind that you will have to set it up or have it done on this one I changed strings adjusted action both at the bridge and the nut and I polished frets and set intonation I know that if your a beginner this may sound like a lot but look on YouTube many of these task are not hard to perform

You get what you pay for
I saw a lot of great reviews about this guitar and for the money I figured I should give it a try. Well, the old saying of you get what you pay for holds true. There is a large scrape or gash in the 12th fret. It's so rough you can not bend the string across this area. Looks like I'll be taking this back.
