It appears to be a genuine Brother cartridge at well under the normal or discounted price from others. It's pictured alongside the normal box but there's "small print" (that I missed) saying it comes unboxed. That was a disappointment when it arrived. I haven't used it yet as I bought it as a spare: the sealed foil wrapper looks genuine but I have doubts - I can't think why anyone would have the genuine article to sell but not the box. Also, without the box I can't return the used one to Brother for recycling.(Would I buy another from here? No - I've had non-OEM cartridges before and the last one wrecked the printer; probably an isolated incident but not a risk I think worth taking for the saving. I'll probably buy another (properly boxed) one as a spare from a normal stationer and never use this one. Oh, and the lack of the Brother box didn't appear to save packing as it came wrapped in card, bubble wrap and in a much larger box.If my doubts are unfounded, for the want of a nail...)OK - a year on and I decided to use it (printer will need to be replaced by next year so worth giving it a try) - no problems so I take back my reservations. Out of the wrapper it looked genuine and indistinguishable from a boxed one, so I guess my concerns were misplaced.

I cant give 5 star rating to everything - and sadly I had nothing but trouble with my Brother printer AND its replacement so that Staples eventually replaced it with another make. This is not a reflection on the Brother toner cartridge but on the printer that uses it... There is no doubt that for light users a pseudo laser printer is the best choice ink does NOT dry out simply because printer has not been used for a month or two as happened with my Canon MP600R and my Epson Stylus Pro 4000 A2 printer.

No complaints whatsoever. genuine part, in the right box, undamaged and functional. You'd be surprised how many times I've have refilled, re-furbished, copied and damaged toners over the years but this was great. No hassle or mess. 2 mins after opening the box printer was up and running again perfectly.

Always buy originals after trying compatibles. This was a good price

I've tried remanufactured and non-OEM products before but I don't think you can beat the original for quality. Worth the extra few quid.

The real thing - will never buy compatible toner again as colours are pretty terrible and don't last as long
