Horrible Harry and the Green Slime

I bought this at the suggestion of a friend for one of the VERY high readers in my kindergarten class because I was having difficultyfinding a chapter book he was interested in. He loves it and couldn't wait to read another book about Harry. Definitely recommend for 1st and 2nd grade readers!

My son is newly 8 and in the second grade. He approaches his school reading assignments a little reluctantly--a combination of being self conscious about reading out loud, being caught in the too young/too old range for many books, and by being stubborn about not liking what his big brother likes and is good at (my oldest is a reading machine). Basically a stubborn boy my youngest one is :).In any case, one thing my oldest has decided he DOESN'T like is the idea of a Kindle. So, being a sneaky mom I downloaded a couple books onto my old and trusty Kindle and lo and behold, suddenly it's okay and fun for my youngest one to read. One of the books I purchased was a Horrible Harry and oh my--what a great choice! My son adores the stories and adores reading them on the Kindle. The chapter/stories are just the right length for each evening and have enough challenging words to be good for him, yet he can do a great job reading as well.We now have several of the Horrible Harrys and I couldn't be happier with them.JTG

This is a great beginner chapter book. I was a bit surprised that they actually didn't get to the green slime part till about the last 4 pages of the book. I actually thought my book might have had the wrong cover on it till I got to those last pages. It was still a fun read, maube they should just change the title. ☺

Bought as a gift and he really liked it. I would definitely recommend this product.

I have a one sided opinion of the Harry books. Mrs. Kline was my teacher and I was part of the creation of the Harry character. I loed readimgs these books in class before they were finished so that all of us could gve our ideas. Harry and Herbie Jones should be read in schools today. This book brought so much fun to the classroom and school.
