Hunter Safety System High-Strength Carabiners (2-Pack)

Nice carbiners. All aluminum nice finish. Barrel style locks. Lightweight and strong. Hopefully keep me safe while in the field for seasons to come.

Opt for hassle free packaging and these are easily a few bucks cheaper than every other carabiner. They are simply low glare black finish, not neon colors like most of my others, which makes them better for tree stand use, but they are perfectly suited for rock climbing or rappelling as well. Cheap enough to leave one on a tree strap in each stand (which is easier for me than hooking up every time).They are rated to 5k lbs, same or similar to most of my others, but are actually a hair lighter than the others as well. I like their slightly smaller size and more svelte construction and I'm planning on throwing a pair in my fire fighter turnout gear just in case I ever need them to rappel out of a burning building or during a rescue.

These caribiners are wonderfully solid and really light (though not as light as others I own of a similar tolerance).My issue with them, and it's a significant one, is that the locking nut doesn't roll up as high as I'd like and only covers about a quarter-inch of the male portion of the gate--which means it doesn't take that much spin of the nut to unlock the clip. That's not a big problem for any kind of absolutely static use, but if you're going to be moving around while clipped-in I'd pay really close attention to the nut.

I have yet to test these, but they're extremely light, smooth operating, and above excellently priced. These are rated for 5600 lbs (about 31 kN) and similar products I've seen sell for around $20 so this is amazing to get 2 for the price of one. I have toyed with them a little and they seem to be high quality. I will try them out in a couple weeks. When I do test them I will "put them through the ringer" by using them for climbing and rappelling (something they weren't designed for) if they can withstand that (I weigh nearly 300 lbs), I am certain they will do what they're intended for.

I really like my carabiners. I use them in my tree stands with my Hunter Safety System. Extremely strong and when connected to the eye bolt, will support me in a fall. I have tested it to make sure it will hold me if I fall.

great functional carabiner for those in need of a locking, heavy duty, high weight rating, large mouth opening carabiner for tree stands or other uses. we wanted this exact model for a short rope connecting the 2 pieces of a climbing tree stand together. this was the only one with a high load capacity and wide mouth that fit the bill. a bit pricey - but - was exactly what we wanted & needed!

This is a solid product and well worth the investment! A friend of mine and I used these on the u-haul trailer we rented to haul two motorcycles from Chicago to Smoky Mountain and had no issues whatsoever. These things are sturdy and stay in place and are very strong! They are also easy to use and I haven't even noticed the paint chipping off either after our long trip.
