Great strings. I would rather pay a little extra for these than some others. They install like all banjo strings.

I usually use Elixir coated strings, but I thought I'd give these a shot since they're normally less expensive. I play outdoors often, so I really prefer coated strings since they resist the deadening that often happens with humidity and don't pick up the dirt as easily. These strings seem strong enough, but they lack some of the "snap" I'm used to. They basically sound like a well-broken-in string from the moment you put them on. The packaging can be a pro, or a con depending on what you expect. They are all in a sealed plastic package, not individual paper wrappers like many other strings. They use color-coded "flags" (for lack of a better term) that make it somewhat difficult to determine which string is which gauge. There's a chart on the package telling you which color denotes which gauge, but that's not as easy as just reading an envelope. Overall, depending on the price, or if you prefer the all-in-one packaging, these are good strings and a valid alternative to Elixir strings.

I am new to Banjo playing and recently acquired a new used Goldtone BG-250 Banjo. I replaced the strings with D'Addario. This has got to be the best overall string maker in the world. I'm sure there might be small mfrs in niche markets that rival them but I have been really happy with D'Addario. I have used their Guitar and Mandolin strings for 40 years and their Banjo strings did not disappoint with this first purchase.

A great pain to install. The end loops that are suppose to be fixed to the tail piece of the banjo kept breaking with the slightest bit of pressure while restringing. This is the second pack of strings I bought in a row because the first pack did the same thing and I thought maybe it was just me, but the second pack did the same thing. The end loops literally broke before I could even get the strings tightened and tuned. One of the end loops broke as I was attempting to hook it on the tail piece. I’ve gotten guitar strings from D’Addario in the past and they were great but these banjo strings just aren’t worth the hassle of installing.

Great strings, stay in tune, long lasting. Use them exclusively on my guitars, now the banjo is set up with them.

I'm using it for my aucastic banjo (Bulbul tarang), it works superb. Many experts told me it won't work for this instrument but I am happy and replaced all strings with PI00xx series of this brand.

I have a 5 string pyle banjo and two strings broke, I have no experience replacing strings so i thought i should get these as it states they are stronger. It took me 15 minutes but i didn't snap them (i thought i would) it sounds so good, better than the regular strings it came with. Buy these don't hesitate!
