Magpul Hunter X-22 Stock for Ruger 10/22

Awesome stock, great quality. A direct upgrade for your 10/22. Non-Discreet packaging though; it’s a box with a huge rifle stock picture on it (and of course a label with your name and unit number on it). If you live in an apartment complex with a mailroom, expect for management and all of your neighbors to know you have a rifle. Also if you live in a well trafficked area with an exposed porch. I live in the core of a very progressive city so it made my heart skip a beat. Thankfully was able to pick it up within a few minutes. I recommend setting a delivery time frame where you know you’ll be home if this is a concern for you. Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

I could not be more pleased with a rifle stock. It’s nice looking, easily adjustable and sturdy. I could not be more pleased.

Wonderful upgrade for a Ruger 10/22 50th anniversary model design contest winner. (Stainless barrel and receiver, black flash hider, with peep sights) I wanted something with a slightly longer length of pull, and needed better cheek support. I've installed all but one 1/2" spacer at the butt of the stock, and also ordered the low cheek riser kit. The gray color is much darker than pictures I've seen on the web, but it looks great with the mix of black and silver on my gun. (Kidd 2-stage trigger with silver housing, black trigger blade and mag release.) Great Magpul quality too. Receiver was a very snug fit, but I didn't have to hammer anything together, just had to make sure the safety button was half depressed, and the receiver square to the stock. Shipping was much quicker than promised. I've installed sling swivel studs in the stock per directions, and the pre-marked placement of them seems perfect. Surprised that Magpul recommends 10-32 x 3/8" studs rather than the coarse wood screw type threads, but they seem really solid, and threaded in the hole I tapped with ease.

Stock was great, however it was shipped in the original box with a life size color picture of the stock. The box wasn’t taped at all. It arrived in perfect condition but if you don’t want your neighbors to know what you’re getting then look at other options

Can’t say enough great things. The stock just feels right on the gun. Makes my 10/22 feel like an actual long-gun. It’s got weight and it’s got size. Doesn’t feel cheap. My 10/22 has had a few different configurations and this is by far not only my favorite configuration, but one of if not my favorite gun to shoot. I added the mid size cheek riser and all the spacers to increase LOP. To complete the look and feel I highly recommend a threaded bull barrel, bi-pod and suppressor.

Just got this for my Ruger 10/22 Target. The one with the 1" barrel. This stock feels light and hollow when you hold it, but once your rifle is mounted, it then feels rather solid. Some things to note. 1) it's good for the 10/22 Standard or the 10/22 Target because the inlet is reversible because on one side it's the Standard version, and when you flip it over and reinsert it, it's the Target version. 2) There was an ever so slight gap behind the upper receiver once mounted. However, it was very snug and did not budge, could not budge, whatsoever. 3) They are points for placing your studs, if you want them. 4) the butt stock has a nice spacer system so you can adjust the length. The only problem I have with this stock is point #3. The stud points do not come predrilled. After some time, I was able to drill a hole to mount the front stud (more like I carved it), but I'm having a bastard of a time drilling the rear one because unlike the front one which is about 3/16" thick, with the rear one...I'm hitting nothing but plastic at the same depth--there's no space (hollow) on the other side (yet). And given that my studs are blunt tipped, and not pointed, I cannot just screw it in. And I'm afraid to take a power drill to it being that' it's plastic, and the fact that it's located near the bottom screw point that locks in the spacer system. All in all, it's a good stick, but they've gotta fix the stud points. Perhaps predrill them with them being covered by some plastic caps? UPDATE: I recently bought the AFG angled grip with M-LOK. It fits nicely on the bottom. The problem I had was trying to install the MOE rail sections on the side slots (non- M-LOK). Can't do it. You can probably mount an MOE rail one the bottom, but definitely not on the sides. Lastly, I also learned that the cheek rest is removable. So once you remove the stock extenders, you can just lift it off and replace it with another Magpul cheek riser. I think this is possible, but not 100% sure which ones go with it.

Love the fact it’s go a reversible barrel channel so I can use it for a bull barrel in the future

The stock is very nice, gives a much better feel shouldering my Ruger 10/22, can definitely hold it better now. I almost want to give it a worse review but I do like how friendly the adjustments are, however I did not get the dark earth as ordered it looks more like the olive drab green which I find frustrating but the colour is growing on me. Overall quality seems great I did purchase the adjustable cheek riser kit also which made it fit even nicer
