Murray EQ200 Petrol Lawn Mower, Push, Briggs and Stratton 300E Series Engine, 16 Inch/41 cm

I purchased the 500x Gen 2 at the beginning for the year. Delivery was fast and right to the garage door - very heavy box!Instructions for this lawnmower are dreadful. Several instruction books are included which have difficult to understand diagrams and hardly any text. It took me nearly 2 hours to get this built and up and running - a lot of guess work required. Still not clear on some aspects of maintenance as simply not shown anywhere. This is my first petrol mower so if you are a more seasoned owner set up may be simpler. Also looked around for spare parts - have to go through a third party whose website is pretty poor - makes me a bit nervous about ongoing maintenance.Once filled with oil and petrol I set off for the first cut. It does a reasonable job, but the powered wheels do move quite quickly and the speed can’t be adjusted so you have to work at the speed of the lawnmower. It’s quite heavy to manoeuvre once the drive wheels are disengaged - but I guess this is true of most petrol mowers.I find that it doesn’t cut to the edge of the wheels so have had to learn to cut slightly over the last pass to get an even surface. It doesn’t really do stripes which is a shame.Our front garden is quite lumpy and this put quite a strain on the handle resulting in the plastic insert on the green plastic handle joints disintegrating. The handle is actually more robust without the inserts so not a disaster.The engine starts pretty well, and can handle some fairly tall grass without stalling. The grass collection box is pretty sizeable which means fewer trips to the compost heap. Being able to use the hose fitting to wash out the underside is an added bonus. Comes with lots of accessories for mulching etc. which is useful.I would cautiously recommend this lawnmower. If you have a fairly flat lawn with few tricky areas to manoeuvre around then I think this would suit well. I’m not sure how long this will really last, it doesn’t feel as robust as my old Bosch electric mower which was considerably cheaper.

Does a good job. Briggs and Stratton engine so well tested and reliable. Started first time out of the box. Would recommend.

The mower is really good but the belt has came off 3 times now since I bought it 2 months ago, bad design it should be locked in to the pulleys and not able to come off!

The pictures make it look a bit blingy and the price made me think it might not be all that great, but the reviews told a good story, so I went for it.Very pleased I did. It’s not exactly bombproof and the instructions won’t help, if you’ve never done anything like this before, but it’s every bit as good as my last mower. Whether it will stand up to the same amount of abuse, only time will tell.

I donated this to my local primary school and they’ve made great use of it. There’s a quarter of an acre of grass, which took just under two hours to mow. It folds up for easy storage afterwards.

What a cracking machine, easy to put together just two bolts to fix the handlebar, add the engine oil (not supplied), fuel up, no air pump to press, and started on the second pull. It's a smooth drive even without the self-forward mode. very large grass box, clean cut.

Arrived with no handle on. No instructions on how to fit it. A few people have tried and no one can work it out. I have contacted Murray Help centre a number of times as advised by Amazon. I keep asking for instructions however all I get is an automated email telling me they aim to answer in 48 hours. I have had it six weeks now and still not able to use itDelivery was meant to be a take out of the box delivery and I presume assembly. However despite my contacting the delivery service to say I would not be in and rearranging a date a week later they still delivered. Found it sitting on my doorstep when I got home from work. Weighs 16 kg.

I have uses this mower a couple of times now and find it easy to push around and easy to start. The cutting heights work well
