The Sims 3 Dragon Valley Standard Edition - Origin PC [Online Game Code]

I bought it because I am a collector and not because the gameplay suits my style. I don't really get into the fairies, dungeons, and dragons. I opened the world once and I thought it looked nice, but I haven't really been back since. Even the return of characters from previous Sims games (who were they again?) couldn't excite me to go back and play. I give it an A for effort because the world team always does a great job. It just isn't my thing. I took away two stars because 1, it doesn't appeal to me, and 2, the custom content is take it or leave it.I do want to add that I couldn't give it more points because it doesn't include the Celtic Lands items which are available when you purchase the world from thesims.com. I was disappointed by that, because I thought the version sold here would be the same as the one at the Sims 3 store. I spoke with EA about it, as well as Amazon and both were very accommodating with my concern.It's good if you are a collector, but other than that, you might want to consider purchasing some of the store worlds or other games or expansions. Wait for this to go on sale. For the price I paid for it - I think $7.99, it was worth it at the time.

The premium content in this is the reason to get it.The town is beautiful and has some great lots. But I don't play this town because the elves are racist. No joke. I don't really enjoy having racist elves snub me constantly.The other MASSIVE drawback to this pack is the clothing. If you have The Sims 3, you know that townies will be dressed in whatever happens to be available. Since there are many suits of cloth and leather armor in the athletic section, and very few items in that second generally since it's just shorts and shirts in the base game, it is very common to have male sims dressed in shorts and an armored top. Or, worse is when it's a tank top and the kilt. I hate this.What I love is the Red Dragon. You touch the thing and it fills your energy and hygene. While you're holding it, you don't get tired obviously, and you can talk to it about athletics and max that skill in about a day. Carry a red dragon and you'll never need to sleep. Handy. The mark of the red dragon, what gives the energy and hygene buff, sticks around for 6hrs. Only then will they start decaying.The green dragon is perfect for a gardener. Once you've upgraded your sprinklers to automatic, all you need to do rather than "tend garden" is weed the place. When it's harvest time, tell the green dragon to harvest it. You'll immediately have all the harvestables in your inventory. But there's more! It bumps the plants up to the next stage when it harvests, so if you had some that were mature, they're harvestable. A massive, massive cheat. It has mark of the green dragon, but I forget what it does.Purple dragons are for maxing your charisma. If you get a goal of meeting a new sim, always take it, walk over to the purple dragon, and summon a new sim. You can also summon friends. I think you can talk to it about charisma, but since charisma has requirements to be met to advance, it's not that useful. I purple fills social and adds the mark of the purple dragon so it doesn't decay for 6 hrs.Of note is that you can have only one "Mark of the" at a time. So if you're due for a Red Dragon fix and also need to harvest your plants, harvest first, then red.So, this is a big trade-off. Your townies will dress like morons, and you have a new racist town to live in, but you get the excellent dragons. In a way, it's similar to other packs that way. The entire reason I haven't bought Island Paradise is because it introduces mosquitoes to all your towns.

I like that you dont have to log directly into a origin account to redeem this download copy of Dargons Valley. The down side was all the extra steps and in the end I had to log into my EA account which is linked to the origin Client. I prefer the codes that go directly into the origins client. Note this is a add on world plus add on items not an expansion pack. Dont forget the final step of adding this world to your game: to do this bring up the sims 3 client and click on downloads. Select dragons Valley from the list and click on install. Once added to your game it will show up under installed content. All worlds like Dargon Valley and riverveiw ect will show up here. Also note this world requires the Sims 3 base game to run. The idea was that in this way you can costmize your sims 3 base game any way you want. The sims series is my favorite series from EA games and I would love to see these customized options simplified in future games like maybe sims 5 when it is finally released.

I downloaded this game via Amazon, but, unfortunately Amazon gave me an incomplete code, with the last four numbers/letters missing!,so I was unable to even get it to download on my computer. You have to have the code to prove your purchase. When I wrote to Amazon, and asked a refund, being that I paid for a product that I cannot use, they refused. Instead they directed me to go to the company that made the game, which is EA, and to ask them for assistance. Amazon has caused me a huge inconvenience, being that it is THEIR responsibility to provide the complete code upon purchase. This is not a problem of EA's at all. I'm most disappointed, and will pursue this further.

There is nothing really "wrong" with this expansion pack, BUT I really thought the dragons would be more like pets. I like the new stuff and the scenery etc... like I said there is nothing wrong with this expansion pack. I don't remember reading anything about how the dragons would interact with sims so maybe there was a description which I didn't see or read and if that is the case then my bad.UPDATE: I should note that Dragon Valley is not an expansion pack but a World. Big difference. Still wish the dragons acted like pets.
