The highest possible quality and service.
This product is of the highest quality and so is Captive Technologies. Mapping out the tubing runs can be a challenge but there are many helpful suggestions in the included installation manual so, for once, it would be good to forgo the male prerogative and just read the darn thing. I think, in most installations, at least part of the tubing run will be on or near the ceiling. Therefore, you will need someone who is ladder literate. I found some time ago that this version of my body is no longer compatible with "advanced ladder" so it's best to have a younger person on hand. This is a very beefy, hospital quality, unit. It would take some very inventive interior decoration to completely conceal it. In the end we just decided on function over form and made the central manifold, the runs and the satellite connectors in the shortest and most convenient layout possible. After all, if the continuous pulsing of the concentrator and the cannula draping from your head isn't enough to explain them, then you can just tell the person asking that it's a chic new version of modern art. They'll probably believe it. This is my wife's system, she has advanced COPD, and she was concerned that there was only one male brass connector to attach her cannula and/or local tubing to the manifold or satellite. I explained that her home concentrator only had enough umph to drive one open line at a time so one was all she would need. Then she fretted that she might lose it. So I gave up and sent an email directly to Captive Technologies asking where I could buy more. I got an almost immediate reply from a young woman stating they could fulfill that order for any amount and included a phone number I could call as, she reminded, it was not safe to give out that kind of information in an email. The next day I called the number and it was picked up in less than three rings by a man I would guess to be in his middle to late 40's. He answered with, "Hello, Loyd. How many do you need?" We both had a chuckle about how modern technology made such seeming precognition possible. And then discussed how it could also be a bit frightening if it were in the wrong hands. After he took my order he asked if my wife had considered their new cannulas? I told him that we had discussed them but they were a bit pricey and Medicare wouldn't pay the difference. He said that was all true but the people who had tried them said there was more difference between them and the standard cannula as there was between the old fashioned cannula and a full face mask. Then he said he would include a short one in my order, no charge, for my wife to try. We got the package two days later by priority mail, on their dime, from La Mesa, California to Lancaster, Ohio. If there was a six star rating I would give it to this company for no other reason than it's staffed by real people and not robots and not by someone who has English as a distant second language.
