Daily Peace: 365 Days of Renewal

For several years we had the 365 Tibetan Buddhism book on our sofa table (I'm a practicing Buddhist, my husband and daughter are not, but they liked the quotes) and I decided I wanted to cycle into a new book for the next year or so, and decided to give this one a try.I love it- it's a beautiful book filled with thoughtful and really inspiring quotes (not cheesy inspiring, or hand-slappy faux-cheerful, but the kind of quotes that genuinely make you feel better about things) and gorgeous photographs of everything from amazing macro photos of florals to sleeping kittens to lush landscapes and everything in between. I love the variety in photos, to be honest, and the variety in quotes.I wouldn't hesitate to buy all of the books in this series- I *really* am enjoying this and it has made a genuinely positive difference in my day, which is nothing to sneeze at, especially when you struggle with anxiety/depression.

While I was on vacation I found this book in a lovely little store in Morro Bay, CA. It was a little pricey and on a whim I pulled out my I-phone and compared the price on Amazon. Guess what, Amazon listed it for half the price! It was a no brainer for me to automatically hit that order button. I felt like this was a win-win. The book is great, each day I look forward to reading the new verse and viewing the pictures. In fact, this makes such a beautiful gift that I have ordered four more copies and will most likely order more for Christmas gifts.

I have this by my bed as a sort of secular daily devotion, or at least a reminder to meditate daily on the more peaceful side of life (especially important with an infant in the house). This book quite substantial and is beautifully designed with stunning images and even a ribbon bookmark. I love the range of quotations (literary, political, pop cultural, etc) and almost all of them leave me with a moment of deeper perspective and introspection before I start my day running around with a five-month-old.

Wonderful hardcover book of nice size and quality. Gorgeous photos and thoughtful sentiments. Of course, it’s by National Geographic so I knew it would be well done. I’m tempted to buy them all!

Book appeared to be in very good condition until I opened it. The pages are barely holding on at the binding. At the top of the pages there appears to be damage. It looks like it must have gotten wet at some point and this is EVERY page.

Got these to help my elderly mom stay positive and calm. We (or she) read a few a day or randomly as we feel the need. The pictures are beautiful and the sayings are uplifting.
