Batman: Arkham Origins Grapnel Gun/Launcher Replica

Ok, I don't know if I was just incredibly lucky, or if I just read the box and instructions before messing with the gun, whereas the other reviewers may not have done so. But my Grapnel Gun looks and works just fine!! The actual box says it's for ages "14+," and that it's a replica and not a toy. So, again, it's NOT a toy, people. If you give it to a 5 year-old, I'm absolutely sure it will break pretty fast. And it's big, so it would likely require two hands if a child were to hold it. Now first off, it needs batteries to retract the grapnel, and my gun did not come with batteries. So, that part will obviously not work without you purchasing some batteries and putting them in the bottom of the gun's handle.Now, even though I read every piece of material that the product had to offer about itself. It was a bit lacking in some information. For instance, if you retract the string to the point that the plastic end of the grapnel rod is at the barrel of the gun. You are then instructed to push the grapnel rod into the barrel until it locks in place. If you do just that, and then shoot it, it will likely go about 1 inch and fall in front of the gun. Why you ask? Well, when you shove the rod into the barrel, you now have extra string bunched up in the barrel with the rod, which will interfere with the shooting of the grapnel. So, the instructions that were missing were -"Upon pushing the grapnel rod into the barrel until it locks in place, push the string retract button on the gun's handle to take up the slack on the excess string that is in the barrel with the rod. Once you can hear and feel that the gun has retracted the string all the way, the grapnel is ready for firing."At this point, the grapnel will fire the full 2 feet that it is allowed by the length of string attached to it. Again, it's NOT a toy, so it's not meant to shoot further than that or actually attach itself to anything. If it did do such a thing, I can only imagine the amount of problems that would create in children's hands. I'm actually pleasantly amazed that the makers even made it have a grapnel that can both shoot and retract by the touch of a button!!! Oh, and it truly looks awesome!! Even if it did nothing, it's pretty cool to look at and hold!!Now for people that complained that the gun came with the rod detached from the string and the string was coiled up inside the gun . . . Well, that would truly suck. And I don't know how you would fix that other than returning it.Per delivery time -I needed this for a party on 10/27 and ordered it on 10/16. The site automatically told me it would come between 10/31 to 11/6. I took a chance and ordered it anyway, as I've had products come early before. This product ships from overseas (I believe from the United Kingdom). Well, the site said it was shipped on 10/17, and despite not offering any step by step delivery updates on the site, the product actually showed up at my door on 10/25. So, coming 6 days earlier than they projected is pretty awesome!! It was also well packed and nothing was broken or missing.Hope your experience with it goes just as good as mine did!!!

Fell apart in the first 5 minutes. The string came disconnected with no way to reattach. Child likes to play with it anyway. Kinda expensive. Maybe just for show.

Great collectible for the wall you will need two triple A batteries for the claw part to retract back in doesn't shoot very far though but if you give a little flick to the wrist it will go the full length but an excellent product and looks very good on the shelf

My grandson loved this. The fact that even though it's a replica it still actually shoots out a foam claw is great. Most replicas just look like the item not actually work.

This is an excellent replica of the Arkham Orgins grapnel gun, the gun is extremely detailed and has a superb paint job but it does have it's flaws. The gun is only able to shoot grapple about two feet and the retraction mechanism is VERY loud and you must twist the gun around during the retraction because the string inside constantly gets stuck. The claw is completely made of foam and mine arrived with an easy to spot bend in the claw. The claw is also extremely sensitive and will randomly launch with a gentle touch. Overall I beleive that this is an excellent product to display but as a toy I wouldn't recommend it. Hope you find use of this review!

I would recommend not buying this. I bought it for my 4 year olds birthday. When in pulled it out of the box it has loose pieces inside the gun. Then there was no string attached to the projectile. What a rip off. These people obviously don't care about their customers or the products they send out. They shou do be ashamed. Waste of money in my opinion. Fortunately enough my son likes it... But it doesn't work as it should.

Rewind motor for the string to come back quit working first day of use. Motor runs but string won't rewind. Very disappointing for a child on christmas. Way too expensive for a broken launcher

Restituito perche c era il filo rotto ,arrivato in poco tempo quello sostitutivo ma una volta aperta la scatola ,sorpresa anche questo non funzionante

おもちゃとしてはプレイバリューがあっていい出来だと思う。しかし手に取った時の軽い感じと表面のプラスチック感がリアル感を損ねている。ディテールはシャープで造形は優れているので、ディテールアップと塗装を施してやれは少しの作業でリアルディスプレイモデルにできそうだ。まあ安いのでそのまま遊び倒すのが一番だとは思うが。

Nice replica, bit big for my hands as I have small hands, but hasn't stopped me from messing around with it. It'll come in handy for my Batgirl crossplay costume when I buy it.
