Still plugging along
Disappointed in the writers style of conveying her story around Melania Trump. There seem to be more jabs at Trump than really credible information about Melania. DOn't you just love writers who say things like "there are lots of credible sources for this" yet they are not mentioned? I find myself being more critical of the writer than anything. In the middle of the book yet not sure it is going to get better wrt the writing. I do applaud Melania Trump for her strength amidst all of the controversy and criticism of her husband and President. I think the writer could do much better. Not sure why she took on this story in the first place as what comes across is a bored writer with very little creativity to tell a story.

Concise & engaging
The clever title & credentials of the author prompted me to purchase this book, despite having no particular interest in Melania Trump, aside from her wardrobe. While the author’s research is solid and writing style engaging, there is simply little information that exists about Melania and few people to interview. The picture of Melania that emerges in this book is basically of a disciplined woman with little interest in others outside her immediate family. That’s not so different than a lot of people, but what sets Melania apart is her refusal to even go through the motions of pretending otherwise, which is a disturbing trait for a U.S. First Lady. Most of the “juicy” tidbits (eg the renegotiated prenup) have been reported in the publicity prior to this book’s release, but it’s a quick read and there are a few other interesting nuggets—good for plane ride or the like.

FINALLY
While I wouldn't call The Art of Her Deal a paen to Melania Trump ,it is the first thing I have read that isn't viciously critical of the First Lady. What this couple has endured at the hands of an increasing out of control press is without precedent in my lifetime. If only for the image of America and the first couple it was hoped that Pres. And Mrs. Trump would have at least received the same treatment given to other presidents. But the brutal reporting has not let up. The same press that is vilifying the Trumps are the same press that breathlessly reported his every move to sell their papers. The same press that gleefully published her sexy glamor shots.Ms. Jordan reports the early details of Melania's life and her career. She quotes many sources who say flattering and complimentary facts about Melania. The facts describe an ambitious and very beautiful woman who also happened to be smart and focused. Frankly she presents a positive image of a modern woman. As a couple the author presents a picture of a marriage that has weathered some fierce issues and come out stronger. As I finished this book I wondered, yet again, at people's need to hate the physically gifted and successful among us and how they become fodder for those less fortunate. "Free Melania" indeed? She's doing just fine!

Great Book - Melania Is As Advertised
An extremely well researched , well documented examination of Melania Trump’s life . She wanted more than her native Slovenia had to offer .. Once she landed in NYC, able to stay on a tourist visa and work illegally as a catalogue model , there was no turning back . She hooked a middle aged rich guy who stalked young models . Her will proved stronger then his and he married her. Her husband , Donald Trump was a reality TV star who decided to run for the presidency of the US . The rest is history . Melania has proven to be an enabler . Trump lies and she swears to it most of the time - but not all the time . A great read .

I am so bored!
I have , exercising some patience, read to page 130 now and am seriously tempted to disregard the rest! Maybe if you are a fan of supermodels and celebrity gossip you might find this interesting. But then , after all the research the author did for this, including talking to people who knew Melania decades ago in her little hometown , to write up all that information in the form of something like “ …and then on such and such day Melania went with Soandso to a party in such and such place, and models X, Y and Z were there too. We are not sure whether the party was organized by this one or that one because…” is boring in the extreme . It all rings so hollow and devoid of feeling, depth as well as meaning. Makes me wonder whether Melania is just so boring and shallow a person or whether the author is someone devoid of passion and zest for life. It reads like a brittle documentary , even newspaper announcements would be more exciting. Is it worth my time to go on reading ? I hear that a significant part towards the end is just photos and data. I hope it’s at least photos of Melania and the other people who appear in this book and not of the author and her family , like in that other book I read, “Melania and me” which is poorly written in a very different way, gushy and sentimental . Anyway, Melania seems to successfully elude everyone who tries to know her and coldly dumps friends of the past. I am now wondering if she is autistic too, like I suspect, Trump probably is. They found each other and seem to get along well. According to this book, their marriage is very happy even if they live in separate rooms and don’t spend much time together ( just one more fact that feels like , a very substantial part of the story has been deliberately left out . )
