I was surprised at how quickly this arrived and, when powered up It it posted just fine and with video unlike the 2 boards I ordered from newegg. I was surprisingly satisfied with this board.

Easy Replacement for a first time installer
So I tried to be a responsible parent, but as usual it went south fast. I fried my son's motherboard, when taking his PC's power cable out, as a restriction due to his grades. His gaming computer is about 1.5 yrs old. The freak accident occurred when a dangling usb cable plug contacted the PC's PSU cable contacts when I was unplugging it. Caused a big spark when they contacted and tripped the breaker in his room. First thought it was the PSU, but a spare PSU ruled that out (what a way to spend a friday night troubleshooting a dead PC).I never have taken a computer apart before, but decided I was going to attempt reinstallation myself and learn something. So I ordered/replaced the motherboard with the same model. Also ordered Artic thermal paste, since I needed it for the cpu/heat sync reinstallation when moving to new board. Surprisingly, it was easier than I thought. The removal/installation took me about 1.5 hrs when coupled with some youtube videos). Holding my breath, I pressed the powered button and my son's Win10 PC powered back up and as if it were the original motherboard. Luckily, no need to reinstall Windows or have to reload drivers. I suppose replacing with the same motherboard model, and keeping everything the same, didn't warrant any additional work.As for the product, it was packaged well and they provided a manual, driver cd/dvd (?) and 2 SATA cables. However, I didn't use anything. Its a good motherboard, barring freak electrical accidents and would recommend. So I fried his computer on Friday, received and installed motherboard by Monday and now all is well in the world. If I learned anything, when unplugging the PSU cable, TURN IT OFF at the PSU first. Most PCs have a separate power switch on the PSU. Also, I now know first hand that electrical surges can wreak havoc. So take care in protecting PC from power surges (Surge protector, and moving metal wires/with connectors away when connecting/reconnecting).My son also learned that he should keep his grades from falling, or his mom will fry his motherboard. If anything a good story to tell.I also learned that I could fix this myself and save money. There are tons of videos, and my geekness level increased which I am a bit proud of.

Great Buy for Anyone On a Budget.
MSI Pro Solution Intel Z170A ReviewPros:- The bios user interface is not buggy and it's pretty easy to use.- This motherboard overclocks well, and I get 4.7 GHZ on my i5 6600K at 1.37V ( Your mileage will vary upon processor and the fabrication process it went through, it's called silicon lottery)- The drivers work well for this, it's no glitches within Windows and all my hardware works.- The USB 3.1 header is awesome on this, I believe it provides 5V out at 2 amps and it charges my phone even when the PC is off.- FAN CONTROL !!!!! On a motherboard at this price !? I did not even know this was a thing on this MB, and it can also control the speed of 3 pin fans too !- The quality of the electrical components on this board is pretty good due to the military grade certification.Cons - - The width of this board is a bit short and it did not reach the third set of standoff screws in my case, I had to be very careful with inserting and taking out the 24 pin connector. Just get someone to hold the board while you put it in and take it out, no biggie. Just be very careful- Odd ram configurations : (Yes MSI has fixed this problem in the latest bios updates and added more ram configurations) Here's what I experienced out the box with an older bios version before I updated. The ram configurations should've been good to begin with, I should not have to put my ram in the second slot to boot, I should be able to put them in any slot and boot.- No HDMI :(VERDICT:Honestly this motherboard is a steal for the price, don't listen to the other reviews about dead units and etc, most of them did not read the directions within the manual & their problems were due to one ram module not being installed within the second slot. Also another thing to keep in mind is that you'll need to reset the cmos upon first use (sometimes multiple times) to turn on the PC, because the VGA debug light would show up. This was happening to me when I first got the MB it would not boot and I thought the VGA port was dead, but a cmos reset fixed it and updated the bios ASAP and now that problem is gone.PS. The PCB is brown, when light is on it :P ( Looks good with my RGB though, the white lines glow nicely)PS#2 : READ THE MANUAL !!!!!!!!!!

Great features...weird shape?
Ordered this from Amazon along with an i5-6500. Ordered this on the last day it was 99 dollars, and had to wait for new stock, but the price was worth it.This was an upgrade from an old AM3+ socket motherboard, so it was a pretty major upgrade....The Sata III connections can take full advantage of my SSD, it has USB 3.1 and 3.0 connections (my case has front 3.0 ports). Previously I had to use a 3.0 to 2.0 adapter, and lower the speed of my front panel USB ports. This motherboard pairs perfectly with the existing technology I had...PCIe 3.0 for my GTX970, USB 3.0 for my case, Sata III for my SSDs....my computer finally running all of it's hardware the way it should be.Booted up without a problem, launched windows off of my drives...I didn't do any sort of backing up or anything, I just dug out my windows key, powered off the system and swapped out motherboards / ram / cpu. Then I put in my old Windows 8 key to get Win 10 active again and I was back in business. The only downside, is that my case (Rosewill r5 mid tower) and this motherboard have differing opinions on how big an ATX motherboard is. Only the left-side screw holes lined up, and the right side ones...only one corner. I ended up inserting some plastic spacers during the actual build, to support the stress of the physical connections. Not sure who's wrong there.I don't think it will be a problem because my PCIe cards all have mounting brackets in the back of the case, and I got about 5 screws into the board, so I think it's secure enough....it's still annoying to have an entire side unsupported.

Great motherboard, price was great as well.
Great motherboard, price was great as well.Bought for a mining rig.If you want to use all 5 PCI-E slots you will need to update BIOS to latest version, no other way to do it otherwise, it will work fine with 4 GPUs but as soon as you plug it the 5th one, windows will say 2 of them do not have enough resources to run. Before I figured that out I was very dissapointed, all forums kept saying that this motherboard cannot use 5 GPUs even if it has 5 PCI-E slots, decided to check for BIOS anyway and surprise surprise, MSI is awesome and thought about those of us that are using it for mining, release a BIOS with fix for that, so thank you!Pic attached with latest BIOS version and one of the options to enable to get all 5 PCI-e working.

Nera e perfetta
Consigliatissima.

MSI Z170A Pro veraltetes bios !!!

manca I/O shield
