Really cool and great price!
So I've been wanting a projector for a while now but I kept holding it off because it was hard to find one that was more on the cheap side. I don't like to order things like this online because I'm afraid of something going wrong. I would always find one then the reviews would scare me off. However, one morning I decided to just go for it. I read a lot of reviews on this projector specifically that almost scared me off but I still went for it. It works great. Of course with any projector it's hard to watch during the day unless you have good curtains but I don't need it during the day so that's no problem. If I wanted to though, I could start watching around 4PM (without curtains). The picture is great and shows up clear and bright. I use it with my xbox because it shows a fuller screen than it does if it's hooked up to my tablet/pc. What's really great is the focus, I thought it would be at least a little blurry and it isn't at all if you set it correctly. The sound is also pretty amazing but maybe that's just because I wasn't expecting it to work. A lot of people were having problems with that but I have speakers so it would've been alright. However, it gets pretty loud without my speakers. The only thing I'm not sure about is the remote. I brought my projector used (which is why the condition of everything is even more amazing to me) and I think the batteries they gave me are dead so I'm not complaining, I'm just not sure if it works correctly because I haven't gotten the chance to try it. So to conclude this, I think this projector is awesome and it's a cheaper and in my opinion, better alternative to a TV.

Trash
Worked great till about a couple months in the the fan stoped working and because the fan stopped working the projector would overheat and shut off. I have taken it appart to try to see if it just need to be cleaned due to dust. So I cleaned it, the dust was not to bad and I put back together with all the part in its proper place. Still no go it work for 10 min then it started over heating again. Never buy this product its a waste of money.

Decent projector...recommended!
I bought this Taotaole projector off of Amazon a few days ago. I got it the day before Christmas. Good timing. I like it. It works with some caveats.1. FireTV stick. The Amazon movies do not have sound, but video is presented fine. Note that the fireTV stick works fine on my TV, just not this projector.2. FireTV stick via Netflix. No problems. Both audio and video work fine! I was concerned when Amazon movies didnt work.3. My sony bluray player: Both Netflix and Amazon movies work with both video and audio.4. My sony bluray player: Playing DVDs do not work with audio. Video is fine.I am left guessing that the projector either communicates with the fireTV or bluray player audio properties that it does not support. Netflix obviously uses an audio format that the fireTV and sony bluray player both support. Amazon movies doesnt for fireTV and the projector doesnt with the bluray player. So likely your mileage may vary depending upon the device you connect. I plugged the fireTV stick directly into the HDMI port on the projector. Clearly the audio works because netflix works, so that leaves the audio format sent by Amazon and by the bluray player as the issues especially since the bluray player's implementation of Netflix and Amazon both work over the HDMI cable from the bluray player to the projector.that is all I know for now. I may try my roku stick or roku player if the need arises in the future and add that information to this review. But for now I am happy enough. The main issue is renting DVDs (and perhaps bluray disks) and getting them to play.I didnt have any bluray disks readily available to test their audio on this projector so I dont know at this time. One this that I really like is that I get a good image even with a decent amount of sunlight in the room. That said, the picture is definitely much better the less surrounding light there is available. So this is for movie nights and similar which is likely what we would use it for. Also, it works well enough with the blinds closed during the day that daily watching works nicely.I also like that the remote control kind of works with the fireTV stick. I think it also works with the bluray player, but I used it much less because the remote for the bluray player is much more powerful than the controls provided by the projector.Update: Today is 1/5/2016 - I discovered a few days ago that I can select audio for a specific netflix movie and choose stereo and get the audio. By default it seems to choose dolby digital 5.1 which is not compatible with this particular projector. I suspect I can do the same with Amazon instant video and with DVDs and Blu-ray. I will update when I find time to test out my theory and prove it right or wrong.2/15/2016 Update: Ok, for Amazon, Netflix, Vudu, etc, as long as stereo is an option, the sound works. Same with dvd/bluray/sdcard/usb drive. Also at this point, with all the kids and grand kid we have used this project for well over 200 hours if not 500, not actually keeping track, but it gets used alot. So I highly recommend this projector. FYI, I think the warranty is 90 days, but could be much longer, but I had tossed out the box and instructions a few weeks ago. Anyways, at $80 each, a warranty would cost more in shipping both ways. Plus the projector uses LED technology so, this projector will last a long time. Just mount it where it doesnt move much. We set it up on a high shelf and connected it to a smart bluray player. Very happy with the purchase.

Don't expect anything better than just a decent image
Even for the low price I thought it would be a little better. No matter how much I have adjusted the color it is still pretty far off even projected on a good screen. The optics are not very good at all either. About the best it will do is having the center of the image in focus while the edges are fuzzy. I would say if you are just not really concerned about the image being better than decent, it will work for you. If I had to do it over again I would have spent more and gotten a little better product.

Very bad resolution except for center of screen.
I looked at several projectors in the last of couple of months and this was the first which turned out to be a big disappointed. The low cost was very attractive, but the image was only in focus at the center of the projections. It became progressively more blurry towards the edge of the screen. If you have the money go for a DLP projector in the $400 category. That's what I did and I'm really happy with my decision.
