Easy to Install and works great!
Our dishes weren't getting very clean--there was a dirty "film" on the glasses, which we thought was a soap issue. Finally our little "flip door" finally broke. It was either get a new dishwasher or try getting a new soap dispenser. Got this and we are VERY HAPPY! It was super EASY to INSTALL (just take out the screws holding in the old one and place in/re-screw in the new one)! Watching a youtube video first was helpful. We have a WHIRLPOOL dishwasher. Everything works GREAT! The little "flip door" for the soap is brand new/works great and our dishes are SUPER clean/no more "dirty film" on the glasses!**Added plus was it shipped FAST! I think it was a very reasonable price as well!

good
i have a kitchenaid kuds02frss4 dishwasher, and the dispenser lid can not be locked, I checked the lid and found it's the plastic getting old problem, so I think it's good just change the lid, so I bought this one, it's exactly the same size , quality ok, I use a flat screw driver to prim the lid off and change just the lid, in only 1 min! tada! done! I am so happy that the dishwasher can work again!

Mostly compatible with p/n 8565815...
I used this as a replacement for Whirlpool part no. 8565815, which appears to be identical in every way except for the $20.00 price premium and different electrical connectors on the solenoids. (The solenoid, BTW, is the electrical component that flips the dispenser latch open at the appropriate time in the cycle, and also pumps rinse agent in at the appropriate time.)In my case, I opted to swap my old solenoid in to the place of the solenoid that came with this unit. It's a simple one-screw swap, and I sealed the new solenoid up in a plastic bagge, and taped it to the inside of the dishwasher door panel so it'll be there if the old one ever fails.Alternatively, I could have left the new solenoid in place, and crimped two common flat blade electrical connectors to the dishwasher wiring. In any event, this dispenser has the original unmodified, flimsy latch design at the unit it replaces. The dispenser latch becomes difficult, if not impossible, to close over time, hence the reason for replacement.Replacement is simple enough. My dishwasher required a T15 torx to remove the 8 door panel screws, and a 3/16 socket / driver to remove the 6 mounting screws for the dispenser unit. It's important during reinstallation of the new unit to not overtighten the 6 dispenser mounting screws. I suggest running a cycle or two with the door panel off and observing your work to ensure there's no water leaking past the (included, pre-installed) rubber gasket that seals this dispenser off from the interior of the door panel.Knocked off a star because of the poorly designed latch mechanism that hasn't been redesigned. I should knock off another star for the price shenanigans, but that is what it is.

Perfect replacement.
Fit and worked perfectly on my Whirlpool Quiet Partner II. Installation can be a little tricky and took about 45 minutes. Will need the right tools. Easiest if you have a power screwdriver. The "clip" that holds the soap door closed is a stupid design and subject to wear (the reason I need to do replacement). Suggest that you always hold the clip "handle" open before closing the soap holder door, then let the little handle (spring loaded) finish closing. That will keep the clip mechanism from wearing. I.e., don't close the dispenser door by just pushing it closed.

Homemaker replaces soapdispenser without husband!
This arrived so fast and via USPS. Not sure how they did it, but thanks!! I was literally writing them a note when the tracking showed it delivered 2 days ago. I never saw an Amazon guy deliver anything and never imagined USPS would be that fast these days, so I never checked the mailbox. The installation with the correct tools is super fast and easy, with the video I found on YouTube, and the comments helped me be prepared for 2 extra wires that are no longer needed with this new part. My dishwasher, a KitchenAid by the way, is now working properly for the first time in over 10 years. Crazy why I didn't do this sooner.

Lasted 18 months, then failed spectacularly.
EDIT 12/10/2017: This thing failed in spectacular fashion about 18 months after I installed it, dumping the ENTIRE contents of the Rinse Aid liquid holder with every wash cycle. Sometimes it dumps it during the wash, other times, after the wash is done, where it runs down the inside of the door. I expected it to last more than 18 months, but that was obviously a fantasy.************Relatively easy to install (I did have to remove the front panel, and replacing it is sometimes a two person job), fit right in place, hooked up and working. As an aside, why are all major appliances now built to last five years or less? It's pathetic. The first dishwasher I owned (bought in 1980) lasted 25 years with minor repairs. The second one started needing parts about three years in and got too expensive to fix after 5 years of very moderate use (3-5 times a week). The current one also started needing replacement parts after just 3 years, and every few months, something else malfunctions. In the last three months alone, this dispenser failed, the spring assembly that counterbalances the door snapped a cable, the "Start" pushbutton switch failed, and two days ago, the thermal fuse went, taking the unit down AGAIN.I tend to do my own repairs on things like this, and it's turning into a full time 'hobby' now. If I had to pay to have someone come out to fix all these issues, I'd be a LOT more upset.

Looks like they redesigned it
This has worked great for the past month. No problems. It looks like they revised this from their older version. My original unit had a light/sensor on it for the "Jet Dry" but the new one does not. I simply taped up the sensor to the dishwasher prior to replacing the panel and haven't had an issue with it since. All-in-all, in over 6 years of continual use, this dish washer has never given me a problem and this has been the only item that I've had to replace. This is a very easy part to replace and literally took me 10 minutes and that is with my 5 year old son taking out and replacing the screws.
