very good reel for carp fishing

Bought these to use on a day ticket water that doesn't allow heavy carp gear (carp run to 18lb ish), matched them with https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B077V2XMXR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.Handled a 16lb 60z carp no problem.Don't use the line that's already spooled though, it's supposed to be 10lb but breaks really easily.

Absolutely made up with these reels bought two as they were only 20 quid took a gamble on the slightly ugly purple bits bit they look so much better in the hand it's not that colour at all it's a really dark metallic finish looks real slick used them with my new rods I bought had a great session with it all feels smooth when bringing the fish in all in all chuffed to bits with them worth the money if your just starting out or even want a spare reel

I bought the larger of this type of reel for my heavier duty match rod and took it out to use at the weekend. It was fine for catching carp up to 6lb, but the clutch struggled with anything heavier and didn't sound particularly healthy over this limit when paying out line.Overall you get what you pay for and this was good enough for playing lighter weight fish. But I wouldn't recommend this for use on waters that have fish/carp have the chance of frequent double figure catches.

Excellent quality, I was expecting something that was not a nicely finished or so smoothly geared.The spool filled well and the line doesn't slip over the edge without me needing it to.The second spool is a real bonus.

Its been great for about a year but now the clutch is a bit sticky. I have tried cleaning it but it made no difference.
