Your search is over, GET THIS ONE!! Best on the market for functionality and price. Basically infinite storage. Zippers are smooth, backpack is sleek and water-resistant, and the material is extremely durable. I have to fit a CRAP TON of stuff in here for school and somehow it fits everything! Protects my laptop with plenty of padding in the sleeve, and protects everything from the rain. When you think you’ve found all the storage, you’re always wrong. You’ll discover more. Had it for 6 months (including during a study abroad) and still looks brand-new. Nothing broken or even worn. (FYI Travelers: all I took on the study abroad was a carry-on and this backpack, and I’m a girl. I could fit SO MUCH in it, and I could easily fit it under the seat. Love all the hidden pockets to prevent pickpocketing too!) What could be better: (being picky) * Comfort: The padding on your back is thin, the material on your shoulders is scratchy if you have a heavy load, and the straps aren’t reinforced to help you with the weight. But, I use this backpack every single day as a college student and my back is just fine! * Water bottle pocket: Won’t fit most water bottles. But, the interior has so much storage, just put it in there! * Laptop sleeve: The sleeve is sectioned off into 2 main sections and has this weird pocket in the middle of the separation flap. Not a very functional pocket and makes it hard to put things in that sleeve-section. But, there’s always the other section! * Stability: Doesn’t stand up well on its own, needs to be propped up against something. Then again, I probably overfill mine so that might be the issue. * Pins: Can’t put decorative pins in this material. Comes with the sleek look and the water resistance.

4.5 stars. This has been my daily bag for a year and half. Some thoughts for others: -it is not waterproof, one heavy downpour soaked the inside, I purchased a basic black rainfly for the next downpour. For light rain or drizzle, the bag does well. -the pocket on the shoulder straps is too small to put anything in and the zipper does not stay closed. They should re-work this pocket or just remove it. -the back does get hot when you wear it with both straps on, additional ventilation would be helpful. Perhaps something like the Osprey daypacks, where there is more of a mesh back suspended from the top and bottom -the top pocket is great, holds a couple of earbuds, pens, etc, it would be nice to have this pocket a little bigger since it is so easy to use -the USB charging port is not helpful, I only used it once most phones can hold a charge long enough that this could be removed. It would also be nice if the USB port was removable or you could cover it with a flap -the bag does look dressy, have worn it with suits, blazers -the large interior pocket is enough to do an overnight, holds a dress shirt, personal items and small toiletry bag -the water bottle pouch does well, it would be helpful to have a cinch cord to hold a bottle more tightly or to have a slightly longer pocket so bottles don't fall out (has happened a few times). All in all, it is a great bag and I'm happy with the switch from a messenger Timbukto bag to the "dress" backpack.

This is beyond the best backpack/bag I have ever gotten! I dont work for them, I dont know them and I'm not a paid commenter. I am always very nervous about buying things like this online. Will the zippers be quality are the seams any good, is it comfortable. The idea of buying something like this that I will use in my travels, long waits in airports... I was very concerned about all these things, and the price made me more concern because I thought it was SUCH A GREAT PRICE! Ironic I know. When the word gets out about this bag, they will sell TONS. I don't normally give such high praise on a product, but this is the best bag in every way and has exactly the amount of pockets, (I got the 3 zipper one), the easy access to my laptop or tablet without pushing all my other crap aside... THANK YOU FOR THAT! OMG! The outside easy to reach and quick to access pockets, don't know what I would do without those. Some bags that LOOK like this or are designed like this don't have those pockets and in airports, they are lifesavers. Or everyday use, which I use this for both, so yeah this with me always now. Charging deal on the side... great location, works, and love that I can put my battery pack inside and not need to dig in to get it to get a charge. SO convenient. Okay I'm rambling. But this really is the BEST bag I have EVER bought and I'm kind, no I am, a bag snob. My brother buys me a bag every year xmas because I travel so much. I've always been trying to find one that did all I needed it to do, was nice so I could take it to meetings, and the hidden back slot for my passport... ah lordy! Thank you again. I know other bags out there are LIKE this one, but the price, the quality, the features, the pockets, the water proof zippers. A+++ Not only do I recommend this backpack but I have a sneaking feeling it will sell for DOUBLE this price in about a year for now. I got it at $54.99 and now that I have felt it and use it, I would not find it unreasonable if they sold it for that much at all. That being said, DONT TELL THEM THAT!! lol. PS. If the people selling this bag on here keep it at this price... you will sell a ton! So I do hope you keep it where it is and you make tons of money. You deserve it. Job well done and I literally want to say "THANK YOU" for making the ONLY bag that seems to be made by people who "GET IT". Everything on my list is checked off. Sorry everyone for the overzealous (appearing) post but this has been a hunt for me for a long time. My hunt has ended.

I am so pleasantly impressed by this backpack. The comfort, durability, style, and functionality are top notch at a great price. I work a hybrid remote/office schedule and this is perfect for taking my necessities to and from each. The material is stylish yet durable and the variety of storage options is great without the backpack being bulky. It is sleek and stylish but can hold a ton! I would absolutely consider other Mark Ryder products again. Only complaint (and it is minor) is the charging port input and output is USB A, not USB C. Great bag!!!

Great bag. Could use minor improvements. Serves the function well with many pockets to hold things separately. The inner pocket to hold the portable charger is too small to fit larger chargers. Not much structure so it got "slouchy" over time.

Purchased this for my father last year as he travels every 6 months and wanted a backpack that would fit his clothes while being durable enough to last. I just recently seen him on his visit to Texas from California and the bag literally looks new. He loves this backpack because he can fit 5 shirts, 3 bottoms, 5 pairs of socks, 5 underwear, and his toiletries no problem. It works perfectly as a carry on for any flight and is well made. I think this back looks more expensive than it was with perfect stitching, multiple pockets, and thick straps. Not to mention it holds up in different climates as my dad travels to Bolivia 6 months out of the year, handled the Texas humidity just fine, and doesn't seem to fade from the sun. I would definitely buy this again, and am thinking about purchasing for my friend who takes his laptop everywhere with other documents. It isn't a cheap purchase but makes a great Father's Day gift or birthday present.

Who is Markryden and how did he make a business backpack that's so awesome? I travel for work, usually just an overnight trip but sometimes can go 2-3 nights. I attend business meetings, so a suit and dress shirts have to be packed. I can be wearing the backpack with casual or suit attire. I have a technical job and like tech, so I need lots of pockets for my laptop, dongles, notebook, pens, charger, cables, external harddrive, external battery pack, extra chargers, earphones, water bottle and misc documents. Everything must fit in the pack, no extra suitcase or duffel. Sometimes I leave my clothes in the hotel but still need to use the backpack as a day pack, and it shouldn't look massive when there's only a laptop and a handful of cables inside. These were my requirements for a backpack, and I did a ton of research. I have no concern for price, I'm looking for function. If it can meet the needs I wrote above, I don't care if I have to spend $500. I bought and tested the Aer Travel Pack 2, Arcido Oxna, GoRuck GR1, Black Emblem Citadel R2, Knack Medium Expandable Knack Pack, OpposeThis Invisible, Peak Design Travel 45L Backpack, and of course the Markryden 3 pocket Travel Backpack. Very rarely is the most affordable option also the best one. I was really really impressed with this backpack, but I must say I didn't test all the backpacks very long so I don't know how well it's going to hold up. It is the most functional though, and while not perfect, it checks all my boxes. Things I like -I can fit 1 suit, underwear, socks, PJs, 2 dress shirts, sweater, and small toiletries bag in the main compartment. Still room left in the other 2 compartments for my cables and laptop. -The main clothes compartment has smaller pockets for whatever you feel like putting there, which is really nice. It doesn't take any more room but it's so nice to have it when needed (Arcido, Knack, and Black Ember don't have as many pockets in main compartment). -I think it looks nice when wearing casual or professional attire. Can pass as a regular day pack without question. Even when fully loaded, still not too bad. The Peak Design backpack looks like you're carrying half a house in it. -All the smaller compartments and pockets make it really easy for me to store everything I need in a manner that's clean and tidy. No one giant pocket of doom where everything goes into (I'm looking at you GoRuck GR1). -When there's nothing in the main compartment, the bag naturally slims down as it doesn't maintain it's expanded shape (Arcido, Peak, GoRuck, Black Emblem all stay expanded). -It's comfortable to wear, but I must say I don't typically wear my backpack for very long. The longest I'll wear it is when I'm walking from the parking lot of the airport to my gate. -The zippers are surprisingly smooth, quiet and seem waterproof. Not sure what kind as they just say Markryden on them. All the other packs have YKK zippers that are supposed to be high end, but can be much louder to open. -Water bottle pocket sits flush on the side but a regular water bottle fits in nicely. Larger flasks won't fit. -Built in compass! Is it just me or is it awesome to have when you're in a new town, looking at Google Maps on how to walk to a nearby restaurant and you have no idea if you're supposed to go right or left from the hotel? -This pack is fairly light weight. There's no actual weight on the amazon page, but I'm estimating something like 2 lbs. Some backpacks are really heavy, like the GoRuck and Peak Design being above 3 lbs. Things I don't like -I'm not crazy about the shiny Oxford fabric used on the outside. It feels a bit on the cheap side. Most of the other backpacks have Cordura 500-1000D which feels much nicer. This Oxford fabric isn't horrible, but it just seems like it could get scuffed easily and won't come off. -Laptop sleeve doesn't have a false bottom, which means the laptop is touching the bottom of the backpack where there isn't much cushion. If the backpack falls or you put it down quickly, it may damage the laptop. -I know I said I loved the pockets, but maybe too many?? Sometimes I forget which compartment and pocket I put something in. -I don't like the large branding on the front. I don't mind the small one on the top right, but the words MARK RYDEN going down the front of the backpack doesn't look very good to me. In the end, it's a great backpack and I highly recommend it. If Markryden ever came out with the exactly same version but with a different fabric, I'll probably buy that too.
