The plastic covers one end on the closure, not the post-like sharp end. This concerns me. These are also tiny and seem fragile. I am very scepticle. She is a HS student and sensitive to metals. We are hoping to be able to convert hanging stylish earring to be able to be functional clip-on earrings. She likes a brand called Karen Scott, I believe. This brand is special order in clip-on versions. I may return these. Must check with her. She lives out of town. Help!

These are great for converting earrings and they look so natural

They were easy to convert, fairly easy to put on, okay comfort and look great on, but one broke after one use. See picture. The end cap fell off which causes the spring mechanism that keeps it closed to be useless, thus the entire thing useless/broken. (Earrings are handmade, from Houston artisan, Womxn on the Moon)

I love the clip in concept of the earrings but they pinch your ears and become very uncomfortable after a while
