8 Hole Tele Pickguard Scratch Plate for USA/Mexican Fender American Standard Telecaster Modern Style Electric Guitar, 3Ply Black

I have a Squire Bullet Telecaster in Lake Placid blue and really didn't like the minty white pickguard it came with, so I ordered the single-ply black guard to replace it. The quality of the new guard is on par with the original, the size and position off all the cutouts matched exactly, and all the holes lined up perfectly. My only gripe is that I wish it came with black screws instead of chrome. I just ordered those separately for a few bucks. It was well worth the cost and time/effort to install (all five minutes of it, lol). it completely transformed the look of the guitar.

I put this on a Limited Edition Squier Tele and can't believe the improvement in looks! If you have a Strat or Tele with the standard white pickguard, try one of these and see what a difference it makes. This is a high-quality pickguard and all of the screw holes even lined up perfectly. No problem using this with either the stock pickups or the Wilkinson upgrade pickups I put in the guitar. I've done a fair amount of business with Musiclily thru the years and have found that they really care about their customers and provide some of the best customer service I've ever experienced, not that I've had to use it much. And no, I do not work for them.

I put this pickguard on a Squier CV body. I had an extra Fender neck. It was was a perfect fit. Screws lined up perfectly. Probably not as nice as a $40 pickguard but if that’s what you’re looking for you wouldn’t be buying this one. If you’re picky about vintage this guard is predrilled for neck pickup mounting which is not vintage.

I got this to spice up my budget Squire Bullet Telcaster, and I really like it. The pickguard appears to be thicker and nicer quality that the stock one. The holes lined up perfectly for my Bullet Tele. I had to lightly file/sand around the neck. Not a problem and it is a perfect snug fit. Also had to enlarge around the switch plate but I think that was because I was using an aftermarket one. It comes with two layers of protective film, there is even a little card in the package stating it, which I didn't read. I installed the guard peeled off the film and though there was something wrong with the surface before realizing there were two layers. After peeling of the second layer the final perfect surface was revealed, Nice.

I needed a 3 ply black on white pickguard to replace the clear monstrosity that comes stock on the Leo Jaymz tele style guitars. I knew this wouldn’t be an exact fit and I’d need to do some modding. However It fit nearly perfectly, all but 3 of the holes matched the existing holes on the guitar. Being a sub $200 guitar I had no hesitation to drill 3 small pilot holes. The control plate cutout needed a few minutes of sanding to make it fit the slightly larger control plate, other than that it fit and looks like it belongs on it.

I ordered this item knowing it was not made to fit the low-cost INDIO Retro Classic I have. I studied specs of guitar and pick guard, and made an educated guess that fitting it should be possible. Item arrived the next day, and was a very nice color contrast for the Blue Tele-style guitar I have. Removing the original guard and laying them on top of each other I could see minor, careful fitting would be required, and the redrilling 6 of the 8 screw holes also needed. Marking the two areas which would need sanding/filing to fit. Went to work on work bench and in about 30 minutes had a perfect fit. I mounted it to the guitar with the two holes which were correctly fitted. Then center punched the holes which were not aligned. Drilled carefully with a 1/8" bit, screwed in all screws, and WOW did it look very nice! Restrung guitar with De Addario NYXL 10-48's. Checked setup (all perfect), plugged into my tube amp, and was BLOWN AWAY! If you have not tried these strings yet, GET SOME, they are amazing! Overall, the pickguard looks beautiful on this $86.00 guitar, and with the guard and strings, I have a guitar I would play easily on stage, at a total cost of about $110.00!

En este caso la tapa de color negro de tres capas encaja perfecto en una Fender Telecaster del 2002 MIM o MN (Made in Mexico). Buen producto para el precio que tiene, a ver lo que dura.

Straightforward swap for the pickguard on my 2008 Mexican Fender Telecaster Standard. Fits perfectly, all screw holes line up with those on the body. I thought the original white pickguard looked a little insipid, so I decided to replace it with a moodier black version. Good quality and price, arrived swiftly and the seller even included a bag of screws. Nice touch! 😊
