BUY THIS BASS?
Absolutely stunned! When I unpackaged this bass I was impressed. Beautiful white pearl finish, and a buffed smooth maple neck. The first thing I did was put it in my work table. I restrung it with my favorite string, Rotosound light gauge roundwounds. I strobe tuned it and started to play. To my surprise it played perfectly. No height adjustments on strings or pickups needed. The only adjustments I made were intonation on the E and D strings. So then I started playing with the tone. I play through a 25 watt Fender Rumble practice amp. I was set at 12:00 on my tone knobs. When I turned the bass blend knob I got a smile on my face. Suddenly I heard the richest bass tone appear, while not hearing any loss of mid or treble tone. Needless to say, I am happy with this bass guitar. I cannot believe this is a $250 beginner bass. It is perfect in every way. It is lightweight, it plays like a dream, and with my Rotosound strings, it is one of the best sounding basses I’ve ever heard. BUY ONE!

Great! Zero regrets purchase.
I frankly expected less, but it's very nice and well made. It is easy to play. The action comes set low. It is fun, looks nice, has a decent variety of tones too and you can dial it in. It's not luxury but its really good for the money and you won't regret having bought this model. I'm sure I can noodle on it for years. Don't forget a strap.

great bass
great bass. well it has it's limitations. I'm a guitar player so for what it's worth. well made. intonation is good. the action, distance the strings are from the frets, is good. good sound. I would recommend for the beginner and intermediate. I ended up putting flat wound strings on mine and Seymour duncan pick ups in it just for an upgrade. I play in a band and wanted a beefier sound. but overall it's great. I would highly recommend it. good value for the money.

Great value bass. Sounds good, required neck and bridge adjustment.
Good basic bass. Mine came detuned, and I think whoever set it up set the neck relief at that pitch. Not great. Tuned it up, adjusted the truss rod to make it straight (from the concave), lowered the bridge saddles and it was good to go. The required hex wrenches are included. Sounds good, though not as good as the SR300E I had. That may however be the heavy strings on it. I prefer lighter strings and think they sit in the mix better. I personally find the boom EQ control useless and leave it off. Overall, however, I'm quite satisfied for $200. It has that tight bumpy bottom Ibanez is known for.

Excellent value, but be prepared to setup & tune!
This came with a tag indicating that it had been inspected and setup at the factory. But, shipping and handling must have had an effect on it (and/or they weren't careful at the factory) since it had multiple setup issues: - Neck curvature was incorrect (not concave enough) - E string bridge position was too low (and other strings were slightly uneven) The manual shows you how to fix the neck curvature and the tool is included in the box. The manual didn't say how to adjust the bridge, but it was pretty easy once I found some documentation online: insert a small allen wrench into the holes on both sides of where the string enters the bridge area. Once I fixed those two issues and did basic tuning (strings were about a minor third too loose for EADG tuning), it played great! I like that it's a bit lighter than my other bass (Squier vintage PJ) and has a flatter, slightly slimmer neck. I also like that the neck back is a smooth satin finish (vs. a sticky high-gloss finish on my Squier). Conclusion: I strongly recommend that you have an allen wrench set (w/ options around 2mm for the bridge) and a feeler gauge in order to perform setup when you get your instrument. The manual tells you proper string heights. Electronics and knobs seem fine. There is one knob that mostly stops, but you can push it a bit further. But, generally, the knobs respond as described according to the diagram at ibanez.com and changes are continuous as you'd expect. While getting the bass set up, I noticed some buzz coming out of my amp (Rumble 40). I was worried about electronics quality, but tracked the problem down to overhead lighting in the room that was on a dimmer circuit. Once I turned off those lights, the buzz went away and I got a very clean sound. I had played this model before and noticed that it was easier to play than my Squier. That's still the case. Only two things left to decide are (1) whether to put on flatwounds, and (2) what to do with my Squier :)

awesome bass at a great price
this has to be one of the best buys ive made! plays awesome after a minimal amount of bridge set up(has a slight fret buzz ). super light action, the stock pick ups are just fine and has to be the LIGHTEST bass ive ever played...my old stage go to was an Aria Pro beast, thing probably weight clove to 30 lbs but had a super fat sound that was perfect for live, never wanted to use my 57 fender p bass for live shows!! i recently got back into playing and this bass paired with the Fender Rumble amp is absolutely perfect!!

Great guitar. Poorly packaged.
The guitar arrived on time. Guitar arrived in one cardboard box from guitar manufacturer with little to hardly any styrofoam to keep the guitar from being damaged during transport. The bottom of the box was damaged. Luckily the guitar wasn't damaged. Guitar came properly setup. Really nice guitar from top to bottom. Beautiful white Preal finish, light weight, and thin bridge. Definitely recommend this guitar for beginners to even advanced players. Fells like a professional bass at an unbelievable price........I've purchased several guitars from Amazon and everyone was poorly packaged. Some had to be returned and replaced due to damage. Please double box your guitars and add extra styrofoam. To assure your product arrive safely. Or ship them in a soft guitar case.

IBANEZ artist NOMAD,FYI, I am a pro musician of 50 years standing, and play IBANEZ,reviewing 10 of the best available here on Amazon over the last 2 years...Bass is the foundation, and this instrument is a solid foundation for aspiring musicians and future bassists. You get a lot of bass guitar for your money in this classy rendition. The model is a trusted formula,4 string, with copious amounts of volume and tone control, and the addition of bass boost over the 180 in this model ..more deep sounds, even at lower volumes..nice! ...simple to play and tune,it is stylish and suits many bass techniques, including slap, with a full sound, and dare I say a sweet Rickenbacker sound for YES fans..strings are good quality, standard,an active instrument regardless of standard, this sounds gr8.. love the slim smooth neck...my only caviat would be to say ,a 3 quarter size model would be better for under15, because of range and comfort...for everyone else,a fantastic bass for introductory pricing,a solid BUY!
