SA Moisturizing Cream, Exfoliates and Softens Rough Skin, 12oz

I originally chose this for the rougher skin on the backs of my upper arms, but it has proven useful enough that I also use it as a whole-body moisturizer. What makes it stand out is that it does two jobs at once: it gradually exfoliates uneven, rough texture while providing enough moisture to keep the skin comfortable. The backs of the arms can be a stubborn area because ordinary lotion may soften the surface temporarily without doing much about the accumulated roughness. With consistent use, this leaves that area feeling noticeably smoother and better conditioned. The salicylic and lactic acids provide chemical exfoliation without the need to repeatedly scrub the skin, while ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide support the moisturizing side of the formula. The texture is substantial, as I would expect from a cream in a tub, yet it spreads well enough for use beyond small problem areas. I especially like applying it after bathing, when the skin is still slightly damp. Sometimes I layer it with a homemade hyaluronic-acid serum that I prepare from sodium hyaluronate powder. That combination gives me an additional layer of hydration, and the cream helps hold the moisture against the skin. The cream also works very well on its own, so the added serum is simply an occasional part of my routine rather than something required for good results. I have years of experience selling luxury cosmetics and fragrances for major retailers, including manufacturer training in skincare ingredients, product function, and proper application. I have used a wide range of premium and affordable skincare, and I appreciate formulas in which every major ingredient has a logical role. Here, the exfoliating acids address texture, the humectant attracts water, and the richer cream base helps reduce moisture loss. It is a practical formulation rather than a product built mainly around fragrance or presentation. Because this is fragrance-free, it does not provide the perfumed experience of a traditional body cream. I consider that appropriate for a product intended for rough or potentially sensitive areas, particularly when acids are involved. I would still avoid applying it immediately after shaving or to irritated or broken skin, and I use sun protection on exposed areas because exfoliating ingredients can make careful sun habits more important. The twelve-ounce tub is also a good value. A full-body application naturally uses more product than treating the backs of the arms alone, but the quantity is generous and the formula replaces the need for separate exfoliating and moisturizing products in many situations. Overall, this has been exceptionally effective for keeping the backs of my arms smooth while also maintaining comfortable, well-moisturized skin across the body. It is versatile, thoughtfully formulated, and dependable enough to remain part of my routine. Five stars.

I have been suffering from KP bumps and ingrown hairs for a really long time ( over a decade now). I have tried so many things to get rid of these bumps. A little background into my personal situation is that I have a milk chocolate skin tone and it is generally very silky smooth. My skins main issue beside the KP is that my skin is very sensitive and prone to dryness ( I have read that KP and ingrown hairs are common in those who have sensitive skin since KP is a overproduction of keritin to protect the skin [is the guess] but it is genetic and usually rarely goes away for most [ contrary to popular belief]). So I have had these bumps for so long and I have tried exfoliates and moisturizers but in vain. My problem areas are the backs of my arms especially around the elbows,the front of my thighs and the most severe place is the bottom half of my legs around the knee area. My main issue was to smooth the bumpy texture of these bumps. I always used shower puffs and Aveeno ( as my general daily moisturizer I still use it) and most recently Goldbond for Rough and Bumpy Skin. The Goldbond moisterizer was a 6/10 because it really aided the bumps on my thighs and the back of my arm but did nothing for my most severe location by my knees. After I waxed again ingrown hairs arrived on my thighs and the Goldbond did nothing so I decided to find a new solution. I always used Cerave products but the price on this lotion really had me holding back from trying it but I finally did and I am so glad I did. I have been using to for only a month now but within the first few days there was a noticeable change and the bumps are all smoothed out. Unlike other moisturizers like the Goldbond it does not peel off and for a thick lotion it absorbs quickly into the skin. I use it every day, after I shower I just stand for about 5 minutes to make sure it fully absorbs and I thought I would never feel my silky smooth skin on my legs again but I finally did! I paired the Cerave with exfoliation for maximum results used Earth Therapeutics Hydro Exfoliating glove as well and Gigi no bumps body scrub and both of them left my skin sooooo soft after showering but the Cerave just got rid of the rest of the bumps. I strongly recommend this for anyone suffering from KP and ingrown hairs! Especially if you have a bump issue. I am dark skin so the appearance of KP bumps discoloration is not to noticeable on my skin but I did notice a little fade in discoloration but not a whole lot so far after 2 weeks or so all my bumps smoothed and only time will tell if the discoloration will go away signifcantly. Overall a 10/10! 5 stars! I can't believe it works! I recommend it to anyone but remember to exfoliate as well for best results. Hope this long review helps someone. UPDATE 2/6/2017: ( The picture is from the beginning of 2017. After using the product for a few months after purchasing it in 2015, this was my results and they have been consistant since [throughout the rest of 2015-2016 and now 2017].) After using this product for about almost two years now it has worked very well! I regret not taking before shots because I assumed like all the other products I tried that it would not work or do anything, so there was no point! Ugh! I regret it! This product still works for me and I am happy my skin has not adjusted to it. My routine is the same,an exfoliating glove, dove soap, my GiGi scrub and Aveeno lotion that is fragrance free. I was about once a month because I generally am not harry and I exfoliate before and after my waxes and I use this to moisturize for about a week after my wax. I also use it randomly, especially when cold even if it has been weeks since I waxed. My bumps are still visible, but has lightened only slightly. I have darker skin so they do not show up anyways. Like I said before my texture and the feel of the bumps was my concern and still is. This product has left my skin soooo smooth I feel like I never had KP bumps! My final verdict is that this is perfect for smoothing those bumps, but if you are concern with discoloration this will help but you will need something extra. However, this is still great for those with dry, KP and ingrown hair prone skin. Hope I helped :)

Great moisturizer for anyone suffering with KP. This is very thick and creamy, but not greasy. I love the added Salicylic acid, because I know that it will help reduce my KP bumps.

I’m finding this cream very helpful as a skin barrier and healing my very dry hands. As I’m very sensitive to topicals the only negative sensation I’ve had was a bit of burning on my feet to open areas from cracking as I am barefoot quite a bit. You can definitely feel a slight tackiness which I don’t like but the good weighs out the bad in this situation. I like it so much I’ve shared some with two friends. It is pricey but again does the healing job. The consistency is a cream but not too thick where it takes forever to absorb. You dip right into the jar so no clogging of any product in a pump which can often be a problem.

I've only had this for a few days so I don't yet know if it does all the things it's advertised to do. I'm giving it 5 stars at this time because it makes my skin feel amazingly soft, smooth, and cool. I had a rough, scaly spot on the back of my hand which has completely cleared up and smoothed out in the few days I've been applying this cream. I wash my hands frequently during the day and use this as a hand cream after each washing, but I'm looking forward to getting the same results on the rest of my body. This cream can be felt on the skin when first applied, but the feeling is not unpleasant and goes away as the cream is fully absorbed. There's a very slight fragrance that's not unpleasant and virtually unnoticeable. Many of the reviews mention feeling grains or plastic-like particles in the cream, but I haven't felt anything like this. The cream I received has a very smooth texture. Many of the reviewers also expressed concerns that they may have received a used product since the jars arrived with no interior nor exterior seals. I, too, am very suspicious and concerned about products that aren't tightly factory sealed, but the Amazon description states that the product is unsealed. Although I'd much rather this product be sealed, I wasn't overly concerned about the lack of a seal since it seems that, for whatever the reason, this was deliberate. Amazon definitely needs to provide information regarding the lack of seals on this cream and why it is shipped like this. Overall, I'm happy with this product and plan to buy it again. I'll update if anything changes.

With menopause came very rough and bumpy skin on my upper arms, chest, and neck. I've tried EVERYTHING under the sun, spent a ton of money, and nothing has worked. I immediately put the CeraVe rough and bumpy cream on all the usual spots and by morning it was like I had new skin. Truly amazing. This CeraVe rough and bumpy cream comes in a very large tub that will last me several months. It's so rich and creamy that you don't need much to get coverage. It's super luxurious. Yes, it is a little thick and doesn't absorb right away, but I have found that that has been very beneficial to healing my skin. And it has healed my skin. This cream is Worth. Every. Penny. In addition to the richness of this cream, and the way it brought my skin back to life in 8 days, it has virtually no scent. I worry when I order bath products online because I'm not a fan of heavy or floral scents - they trigger my allergies, resulting in a headache. Both the CeraVe rough and bumpy body wash and cream have not given me one headache. I absolutely, without hesitation, highly recommend this CeraVe rough and bumpy cream. In fact, I highly recommend ALL CeraVe products. I recently added the CeraVe nighttime face cream to my skin care routine...after only a few night I started noticing a nice glow and my face is incredibly soft. My husband noticed as well. I will chime in with all of the other glowing reviews. I've fought dry skin and bumpy skin on my legs and arms for years, nothing has come even remotely close to the results I've gotten with this product. I've been using it for a month and 90% of my bumpy areas are now smooth or getting there. And my skin stays soft and moisturized until the next morning when I shower again. I recommend this cream highly, it is worth every penny.

Leichte Ekzeme beruhigen sich, so dass ich keine Cortisoncreme mehr brauche. Die Qualität und Ergiebigkeit rechtfertigen für mich den hohen Preis. Ich verzichte dafür gerne auf viele andere herkömmliche und in meinem Fall weitere, medizinische Produkte.

For the longest time of my life I have Keratosis Pilaris and just recently have I learned about this skin condition. Accidentally saw some videos on how to treat them. Almost all videos had CeraVe Rough and Bumpy cream. I decided to give it a shot and even though I have not completed even tub, I can such a huge difference. My bumps are relatively reduced in size and legs feels much smoother. The smoothness I have not felt in ages. It’s a totally worth it product. Go for it.
