Galangal Root (Fresh & Pre-washed) 3.5 to 4 Ounces

Okay, I'm giving a five because the product seems great for what it is, and is very well packed.That said, I'd hoped to root this thing, and anyone thinking about doing that should be careful when ordering Galangal. It appears to be a much thicker root than turmeric, and, consequently, what I've got is a single massive chunk, chopped off at either end in basically a thick scallop-shape. Having started my own ginger from cut up bits, I know that these were the pieces that had the least chance of getting going because there's just so much cut surface area for infection and moisture loss.Still, that's no fault of Aspara's - they're selling for consumption as best I can tell. Maybe I'll just use this for consumables, and go direct to see if I can request a more bulbous piece next time. Quality seller and product.
