Coravin Model Two Plus

This is the best invention. My husband and I used it on one of those giant bottles of wine that we never wanted to open because we could never finish the bottle in one week, let alone one day. We originally used the Coravin on this particular bottle about 5 weeks ago, and today each glass is still as fresh as if we just opened the bottle today. Totally worth the price. It's also a great hostess or house warming gift.

This is my second Coravin and I've loved them both. I've also bought as gifts for friends and family. The only issue I have is that the seal still manages to leak if the argon capsule is left in too long. It seems like every time I go to use it after not having touched it for a couple of weeks, the capsule has depressurized and I have to insert a new one. Not such a big deal if they didn't cost $8-$10 each.

Does it "preserve wine"? Yes. Preserve it well? Yes again. Is it a good product? No--needle broke first use. Cumbersome to use. BUT....I actually would continue to use it (as it is probably the best product out there...but others do nearly as good of a job...) if it wasn't for the fact that Coravin rapes--yes, I will use that word, as it is appropriate here--RAPES its loyal customers when they need to purchase additonal gas cannisters (I have gone through 3 cannisters in less than 3 weeks....).I am not opposed to a company making a good product and making a good profit from it. What sickens me about this product is that they could still make a ridiculous profit by charging a fraction of what they do for the extra gas cannisters. Way over the top, and I cannot wait for a decent alternative to arrive on the market.

It works pretty much as advertised. And it's cool. But it is a bulky and awkward way to pour a glass of wine. It is just not that convenient, so after the cool factor wore off we have stopped using it. We are now back to the rubber stopper and air pump - faster, easier, and I don't have to buy CO2 cartridges. Lot of money for something we stopped using after a couple of months.

We love the coravin system! My aunt is a wine connoisseur and very difficult to buy for so we got this for her for Christmas. She has a beautiful collection of wine but never wanted to open a full bottle. The coravin system lets her have one glass while keeping the rest of the wine intact.

Most useful device for prolonging the quality of a bottle of wine if you only want to drink one glass! The second iteration pours faster than the first but is still rather slow. The enclosed sleeve should protect you from an exploding bottle, but I have had no problems. Main complaint is still the expense, but the device works well as advertised.

Really? Spent $380+ and you actually removed the argon gas capsules? Awesome. So my egregiously expensive new wine toy is now completely useless until I go to a wine store. Nice touch.

If this is your first purchase then you will love it but if you are purchasing to upgrade from the first model it is a waste of money. Cheaply made. Coravin charged more for a product inferior to the first model. Doesn’t really pour faster than the first version. No nice solid stand (it’s flimsy rubber) like the first model and doesn’t come with a nice storage box (like the first model did) either. All in all it was a waste of money trying to upgrade to a true downgrade.
