This is truly awesome for getting rid of mice! I had a major mice problem in my basement, The basement is finished, and the mice would come in behind the finished walls (behind the drywall), nest, and die. I got tired of the recurring terrible odor lasting for 2-3 weeks, so I cut open the drywall to get rid of what I thought was one dead mouse. I found, to my horror and disgust, dozens upon dozens of dead mice! In one area between the 2x4's, their dead bodies were over 2 inches thick on the sill plate! Yuck! After cleaning up (and gagging), I purchased the predecessor to this version (the non-ultra, no longer available), and installed it in the small "crawl-space" between the finished ceiling and the floor trusses.Every now and then, I will hear the scampering of tiny feet overhead in the evening, but then they disappear. By morning, they are gone. Also, no more horrible dead mouse smell! I can hear the unit when I am in near it (BEEeep-click-click), but otherwise I cannot hear it. Neither can anyone else in the house.Highly recommended to eliminate nasty mice!I then bought this new and improved unit (it's supposed to be better against squirrels, and at least as good against mice) and placed it on my porch over my walk-out basement patio. My family complained that they could hear the noise, and it was making them uncomfortable. I then moved it to the patio of my walk-out basement (our house is built into a hill). They say they can still hear it when they are outside, but not inside anymore.The squirrels don't like it. But they do tolerate it. My wife puts out deer corn for the local wild turkeys, and the squirrels come up and eat the corn. They also climb up the side of the house (yes, they can do this!), get onto the porch, climb out onto the bird feeder arm, and drop down onto the bird feeders and eat the sunflower seed. They are determined little buggers! I have several pictures of them sitting on the patio, eating the corn, with the unit visible (and running) in the background. They are sitting right in front of it, munching away!The noise does make them uncomfortable, and they seem more skittish than before. They don't hang out around the patio anymore (no more squirrel parties with beer pong and roasted acorns), but they have no problems tolerating it for deer corn and sunflower seeds.There are no signs of mice anywhere around the patio anymore. I used to find their nests and spoor, I no longer do. It is effective against mice, even outdoors, and near a food source!The birds are not bothered by the unit at all. All the birds still come, including the wild turkeys. I'm not sure about the possum. I haven't seen it since I installed this, but it was pretty shy. I only saw it twice. Sadly, the skunk (which is not a rodent) seems unbothered by it. It still comes around and perfumes the air for us (ugh).It's a bit pricey, it's made in Taiwan, it's sturdy and reasonably weather resistant (you can use it outside), and the company is helpful. It's super easy to use (plug it in).So, 5 stars (10, really) for getting rid of mice, but the squirrels are not as affected as I had hoped, given the new and improved moniker. So, I give it 4 stars.If you want to get rid of mice, get this! It is worth it!

I looked at a lot of ultrasonic products, and I read many times that the sound emitted is inaudible to humans and household pets. I was surprised, then, when I received this one and plugged it in, my dog's ears stuck straight up, and my kids all covered their ears and said "What IS THAT!??" I looked at the description of this unit and found that it does not actually have any claims of being inaudible. But I think the manufacturer should be more up front and include a warning that says something like "In order to target squirrels in particular, we had to make this model use frequencies that are slightly perceptible to humans and pets". I contacted the manufacturer, and he was understanding and offered to send me the model that IS inaudible and said I could use that and if I could find a corner of the attic that was far enough away to not disturb the people and pets, I could use both at the same time. So I did that, and the squirrels left within a couple days! So, in the end, I am happy with my purchase.

The areas around me are building up new developments from the open fields, and I’ve been waging a war against these dang squirrels since they started. I heard them daily in my attic. Since I started using the device:Day 1: still some noise, but not as much. When I do hear something it’s brief, then nothing. It sounds like the squirrels were still getting in but didn’t like it very much anymore.Day 2: even less noiseDay 3: even less noiseDay 4: silenceDay 5+: silence.I waited a couple of days after starting the device to block up the entrance with anti-rodent expanding foam and a steel wool mesh.

So far this has been a good experience with this machine. I am using it in the basement to control a mice problem that I was having. After plugging it in I have yet to see a mouse or smell one either. I would recommend this product to others and it’s definitely better than a trap of any kind.

The noise. Omg. It has been 3 weeks of maddening squeaks. You would think you caught a mice. I am far from impress. I have not seen any droppings since a week I am scared of insects pest ect.,therefore I am not ready to unplug. But that noise beyond irritating

We’ve been using this for a week now and we haven’t seen anymore mice in our house since we started using it. I’m so happy I don’t get up in the morning to find a mouse in the house. If you have pets keep this outside because your pets can hear the noise it makes.

Used to rid attic of rodents (Squirrels I believe). The sounds from my attic appear to basically gone but every now and then I will hear a sound. It could be that they come back and check to see if sound is still there. Not sure. But I am going to order another one since my attic is a pretty good size. Birds stopped coming on my porch as soon as i installed. A lot less early morning chirping going on.Price wise this is near the high end at $59 + shipping cost. But well worth the money if it works! And I do believe that this one works.

This is truly awesome for getting rid of mice and squirrels! I had a mice problem along my backyard fence between my neighbor and I. They lived between the stone pillars of the fence. Nothing would work to catch these suckers until I ordered this repellant. It's easy to use, didn't disturbed our pets too much, and was able to get the mice to migrate.
