I love this soap dispenser and I hope it never stops being made
I bought this to replace exactly the same product I bought many years previously. I needed to replace my poor, old abused soap dispenser because it was starting to leak at the rubber base at the bottom and where the metal part meets the pump. I don't detract stars for the prior pump's performance because it really was quite old, survived multiple moves, sometimes in less than ideal situations, and was a heck of a deal when I bought it. I really like this soap dispenser. The metal dispenser is a great length; it hangs over the sink quite nicely, so that when it does drip it is not on my counter. The non-slip base keeps it from skittering all over my counter, even when water and soap are involved, and the clear decanter makes it easy to keep an eye on soap levels. The fact that it's plastic, not glass is great because the product is lightweight and I don't have to worry about anybody destroying it. It has been dropped from counter height on more than one occasion, and it has not cracked or been damaged in any measurable way. It's probably not going to win any awards from Home Beautiful or anything, but for daily use in a functioning kitchen, it works fantastically. In all the years I've used this product, it has never clogged. And as far as reviewers complaining about how much soap is dispensed per pump, I cannot believe this is a real complaint. Don't depress the pump fully. I can easily dispense barely a smear of soap by just depressing the pump slightly. The soap dispenser dispenses as much soap as you make it dispense. I bought this soap dispenser to replace this soap dispenser, and when, in another 5-10 years it breaks or wears out, I really hope that Progressive International is still making it so that I can buy it again. It's safe to say that this is the soap dispenser of my dreams.

Great for dish soap
UPDATE 2023:After 5 years and being knocked into the sink countless times, it finally got cracked and is slowly leaking. So here I am to buy another one! I do dishes about 100 times a day, and this pump never lets me down. I highly recommend it (as long as they haven't changed the design...)-----------Lightweight yet sturdy. Classy finish on the pump and good grip on the bottom rubber ring. The long spout makes it easier to pump soap into large pots and pans to soak. After a month I have no problems with the ease or flow of the soap as it comes out.I'm not sure why other reviewers say it leaks around the bottom. The body of the dispenser is a solid piece of plastic with a rubber piece glued onto it. I've had no problems with leaking.Highly recommend!

Good for the Kitchen
I bought this pump in Nov 2008 and it has lasted nearly two years. I used it as a dish soap dispenser in the kitchen. During that time it has served its purpose pretty well. The features I like are:1. It's the right size. Holds about 12 oz.2. The long spout reaches into the sink so no dripping onto the counter.3. The clear plastic body to see how empty it is, and how full it is while filling.4. Opening is the right size so that when I'm refilling, I can invert and balance a near-empty bottle of dish soap to get the last drop.5. Wide on the bottom so it doesn't tip.6. Narrow at top (combinded with 2. above) so I can squirt soap onto the center of a sponge or towel.By pressing a lot or a little on the pump, I can dispense a corresponding amount of soap. So those that say this dispenser pumps out too much, you do not have to press down all the way. I've been able to dispense sub pea-size blobs. Also there are a few comments about using soaps with different thicknesses. I cannot comment on really thick stuff. But for the typical range of dish soap the force needed to operate the pump is seems okay to me, and inside spring was always able to push the pump back up. For my thin soap experience, we all know the trick about adding water to the last bit of shampoo (and is seems to last for days). I did likewise when I didn't have extra dish soap to refill the dispenser. The consistency was pretty watery, and the pump does squirt out the soap with greater force. But after readjusting how I press on the pump, I was able get the same squirt control as before. This was just the same kind of readjusting I do when watering down those antibacterial soap pumps used the the bathroom. The one problem I had was that about a year ago the spout fell out of the top part that you push down on. Pushing the spout back in doesn't help because it falls out after a few more pumps. Reading other reviews, I'm not the only one with this problem. I fixed this problem by cleaning out the soap from the hole that the spout fits into, and using a bit of bathroom silcone caulk (carefully applied to the outside of tube), pressed it back into that top part, wiping off the excess that oozed out.But now I need another soap dispenser. A two inch crack developed in the clear plastic. I'm not sure if it happened spontaneously or the dispenser was dropped, but mysterious things like this happen from time to time around the house.

Best soap dispenser I ever bought!
I know I shouldn't get overly excited about a soap dispenser, but this one is great! I have bought many dispensers (and have recycled ones from other products) that ended up in the garbage, but not this one.I am here buying another one for each bathroom. My problems with other dispensers have been:1. The pump stops working all together (this happens to me alot!)2. They leave a mark or rust stain on the counter3. They are heaver on the top and tip over4. They are ceramic and chip when my kids knock them over5. The stainless ones without liners smell icky and corrode from soap6. They are too hard to fill7. The dispenser button is too small to push easily8. They are too small and I have to fill them every week or so.This one has none of those problems! It is easy to fill and pump, it has been pumping away in a busy kitchen for 2 years, and we rarely knock it over (even if we do, it is fine.) As an added bonus, the spout is long and drips end up in the sink. I also like that you can see how much soap is left. I can buy the big bottles of dishsoap or handsoap and refill them easily (but since it is bigger, not all the time!)Funny how a small thing, when it works well, makes life so much easier!

Easy to fill and see when getting low on liquid
Works really well. The longer spout is handy. Doesn't drip on counter. Easy to fill and see when getting low on liquid.

Love this thing - but doesn't last forever
Love this thing. Really.I bought because I wanted something to replace the ugly, messy dish soap bottle. This little gizmo has a rubber bottom to it so it sits nicely and doesn't fall over on the counter. The long nozzle is long enough to extend over the sink and enable you to pump it without lifting the bottle over the sink.Great size as shown and doesn't look cheap.Oh and it arrived weeks before the estimate from the US to the UK.Very happy with it.Update - after a couple of years cracks appeared in the plastic in a few places and it starting leaking.

I like the long spout which lets the drips fall in ...
Using for hand soap in the kitchen. I like the long spout which lets the drips fall in the sink, not on my counter. The long spout, however, means that two hands are needed: one to pump and one to catch. Otherwise, 5 stars.
