Not to far off for facial recognition.
Over the top and slightly bazaar but given today’s facial recognition systems, this could be only slightly in the future. Great story. This was right up my alley.

unusual concept
good sci-fi. there are several nude sex scenes unnecessary to the story line. I chose it on Netflix because it had clive owen. I liked it despite the sex and bought it as a gift for another clive owen fan. she likes it as well. I cannot think of a way to describe the story line without giving away too much, but it is good.

Unplayable
My expectation was that I'd be able to watch this movie. But nope, the copy I received did not play in Region 2 (the United States) - which WAS NOT STATED IN AMAZON'S DESCRIPTION OF THE DVD.

A little bit Basic Instinct, a little bit Cyber Punk
Excellent film. Definately one of my favorites.Mixes the highly sexual psychological thrillers of the late 80's/early 90's with Cyber Punk.Well thought-out and entertaining. I recommend...

How long have you not existed?
The film takes place in a 1984 style "contemporary future." The different item is our ability to monitor all of our movements through our own eyes. Law enforcement officials have the ability to hack into our minds and determine innocence or guilt. Sal Frieland (Clive Owen) is one of these such detectives. It isn't long before people start turning up dead, guilty of "white collar" crimes. The memory of the dead person has them seeing themselves being shot and a gun barrel. Brains are being hacked and memories are being transplanted and even erased. Sal suspects Anon (Amanda Seyfried) who is off the radar. She doesn't respond to facial recognition and can erase memories.Sal goes undercover to trap Anon, someone who can hack his brain. The theme being we can't trust the accuracy of digital technology because we can make it do what we want. Interesting science fiction film. Wish it had a better lead-in.Guide: F-word, sex, nudity (Amanda Seyfried + others)

"..A GOOD SCI-FI GEM.."
This review is for the film and the German Steelbook Blu-ray release.PLOT...In a world without anonymity or crime, a detective meets a woman who threatens their security.Anon is a nice easy simplistic watch, a small sci-fi gem that has great ideas and gives you plenty to think about, no big lavish effects and ships and explosions, just good simple story telling with interesting characters and concept, the movie visualy still looks really nice and gives us a hint of what the future could be like with our privacy on the line. The cast is all great, Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried are good in their performances, from the director of In Time (also starring Amanda Seyfried) worth checking out if you love a slow pace but good looking sc-fi with a who done it story, this movie i should imagine went very underrated. The Blu-ray looks good in HDFeatures include several interviews with cast and makers (over an hour, English) trailer.Region B plays in the UK. Running time 100mins. 2018.Plays in the original English language audio, and German. Subtitles can be turned off.The steelbook is very nice front and back and makes a good addition to the collection.

DVD does not play in the region of North America
Biggest News! Vendor is very helpful in steps to refund. It does take work on your part though. Please always check that the DVD (if you still use that format) plays in your region. Amazon does not filter that for you!

Film consigliatissimo. Figata.
