Adafruit Metro Mini 328-5V 16MHz

Well made near-clone of Mini, but extra features like 3.3 v. output configurability, replacement of FTDI UART with SiLabs CP2104 (lots friendlier than CH340 clones), programmable as Uno, etc. Pay a little more for Adafruit quality, but worth it IMO.

This is a 2016 updated version with CP2104 chip. It does everything older FTDI Mini/Nano's can do and better. It solves issues that older knock-off Nano's had with FTDI driver detection. Does USB to Serial monitoring like any Arduino. Has an identical form factor as a Nano but is 1 pin shorter. If you have a old Nano breakout board this is 100% compatible but the labels will be different.Don't forget to grab & install the (FTDI VCP drivers from FTDI) and the (SiLabs CP210x drivers from SiLabs) to make the COM/Serial port show up right! Visit Adafruit's product 2590 webpage for links to drivers. By default my Windows 7 PC did not automatically detect the correct drivers I had to manually download them from Adafruit's site. Took less than 5 minutes to install drivers and get the Mini running.Adafruit products just work and have amazing support and community forums. Their growing support community alone is worth any additional cost vs chinese competitors.Ensure you have the latest Arduino IDE (1.8.9 as of now) and connect to this board as Arduino/Genuino Uno with the AVRISP mkII programmer. Some might not like it doesn't come with soldered on header pins but they do come separate in the package with it. For my project I love it since I don't have to desolder all the pins to slim it down. Awesome! There is a tool for every job and I hope they continue to make these boards available. If nothing else they are a great way to convert knock-off Nano owners into the higher quality Adafruit ecosystem.

The Metro Mini looks like a big Arduino clone now, lots of wasted space. This new board just works. What more is there to say? Selection of 3.3V or 5V by a jumper/cut under the board (giving you a 3.3V Arduino) puts the icing on the cake. You can compare the size of the Mega328 CPU on this board (about 1/4 inch sqare) with the huge DIP package on your Uno. Oh well, that's progress.

Easy to connect into project and ran Arduino IDE code for an UNO board perfectly. Very nice product.

These are by far my favorite Arduino boards! They have all the functionality of the Uno but are only about 20% of the size. The LEDs are bright and great for monitoring the activity on the board. The whole thing just screams quality, which you'd expect from Adafruit.I use the Metro Mini for every one of my projects unless absolutely minimal size is necessary, in which case I use an Attiny85-based board of my own design. I don't even keep other boards on hand anymore since this one covers all the bases.

This is really a neat little board. Works perfectly, very smooth and quick. My project was enhanced dramatically because of it's size and capabilities.

Works great! Standard Arduino in a compact footprint. Programs with Arduino IDE thru USB port.
