Cuisinart CSG-900 Wireless Dual Probe Grilling Thermometer, Black

I like this thermometer. The first time I used it on my outdoor gas grill, it worked great. When I used it a second time, though, something went wrong and it became useless (see picture). I contacted the seller through Amazon and they lived up to their word. I returned the product at a local Kohl's store and received the new thermometer promptly. I haven't used it yet, but hopefully this one is more durable.

The prongs are fairly large which makes them a little difficult to use on thin cuts of meat.

its good to have but the glass is loose and when I washed it water got on the inside

Works as it should the surface temp option is very handy just wish it had a magnetic back instead of the plastic clip. All in all happy with the purchase.

1) I purchased this STYLE of thermometer based on a grilling website. Per their recommendations, I won't expect it to last more than a year.2) I put it on the grill last night (12/20/21) and compared its reading to an IR thermometer gun I've got. The mechanical thermometer read 500 degrees and the IR read 450 degrees. I have no idea which was more accurate :-)3) But I FINALLY started learning the temperature of my grill. When the hood thermometer read (less than?) 300 degrees, the mechanical thermometer read 500. Also, I learned that turning my control nobs a "small amount" caused a large change in temperature (you have to allow the thermometer time to adjust). So it will be helpful in doing my medium to medium rare meats!

The temperature reading is very slow to respond, definitely not good when the grill is getting at or above 350. The standard I compare it against is a generic, PC brand electronic meat thermometer from Zehr's that works very well.I am also not convinced that it is reading the correct temperature. I have cooked both a ground beef hamburger and a full chicken breast to well-done yet the fork measured the internal temperature a solid 10 degrees below the well-done chart on the back of the device.I like Cuisinart products that I already own but cannot recommend this one.

My experience is that the thermometers work somewhat, but the readings on them are definitely inacurate - they depend on many factors, including thickness of your steak and even type of meat (beef vs chicken for example). You will learn that the gauge position will normally be consistent with what you get, but if it says "medium" it won't be medium for sure, it is normally well done - so long as the steaks are consistently cut.Anywyas, it is too much trouble to be using them. The method of having a small cut and checking will work much better and you don't have to fiddle with these little things which are mostly for decoration.

Je l'utilise pour le grill du BBQ, c'est très utile. Difficile à laver, il prends l'eau. Il faut le chauffer à haute température pour faire sortir l'eau. Il est lent à réagir. Voici le résultat après 3 mois d'usage.

It’s handy for knowing the temperature of a flat griddle. Mine came dented and damaged but no worries it still works and what’s it gonna look like in a year.

J’ai acheté deux thermomètre. Après utilisation normal, un est devenue jaune et l'autre comme original.
