Attractive, slim case at a good value for the HTC One (M8)
If you have an HTC one (M8), chances are its looks was one of the reasons you chose it. This case does a great job of offering protection without degrading the looks of the phone at all. If anything, I think this rather elegant looking case enhances the phone's looks. As others have noted, it consists of a small rubber gasket that wraps around the edge of the handset and a clear hard back that snaps into place. Also as others have noted, the molded-in button covers are a bit fiddly. The first time I installed the case, the phone's volume button was not working properly; it would lower volume levels but when pressed in the upward direction would jam until maximum volume was reached. I found that by removing the rigid back and replacing it a couple times, I was able to get the volume button to work perfectly. For me, the trick was tucking the right side of the phone into the rigid back first then carefully snapping the other side into place. I had no problems with the power button cover as another reviewer has mentioned. When everything is properly aligned, this cover offers excellent button feel. The rigid clear back is honestly still a little more slippery than say a TPU case, but much less so than the naked phone. The clear back material appears fairly scratch resistant. The soft gasket protrudes a couple millimeters above the glass display which offers some protection. The cutouts for camera, charging port, and headphone jack all seem to be about perfect.I'm a little afraid this cover wouldn't fully protect this heavy phone from a drop on a hard surface like concrete or a tile floor, but I'm willing to gamble a little rather than hiding this phone in a huge rubbery coffin like an Otterbox.UPDATE (02/10/2015): I have since dropped my phone three times. Twice on hardwood floors in my house and once in my asphalt driveway. So far, this case has protected the phone. The drop on the driveway did leave a shallow chip in the lower left corner of the hard plastic outer shell of the case, but it does not seem to have reduced the level of protection from the case, and isn't very noticeable. I will add one other drawback... dust, fine pocket lint, and occasional dog hairs somehow work their way between the phone and the clear back, so I do have to remove the case for cleaning every week or so.

This case is just wow
ProsAs far as aesthetics go, this case is gorgeous. It's one of the few cases that not only let's the beauty of the m8 shine but also compliments it.As far as protection goes this should be a great case. The fact that it's both a bumper and a hard shell should mean this case can Handel the toughest of falls. Another plus about this case is that its raised enough to protect the screen (it's high enough that it also protects my tempered glass which is a bonus). Now for the consDon't get me wrong , I've had much bigger cases before this one, but this is case is right at the edge of what I personally consider a large case. Another issue with this case is that it's rather too slippery for my liking.Honestly this could all be over looked if it weren't for the biggest flaw of this case, which are the power and volume buttons that comes placed with this case. when I first put this case on my phone the power button wouldn't register. so I had to break then reinstall the power button on the case. Since then its been working perfectly. The same can't be said for the volume buttons, I had to cut that part off the bumper case because it would get stuck on the up position

clearly a great case for the price
it consists of a rubber bumper and a hard case that holds the bumper in place. everyone loves how the clear plastic lets people see the beautiful body of the htc one m8 (especially if you have the gold one). the cutouts are good: no flash glare problems; the ir remote works great, the charging port great. the camera is unobstructed. the background noise mic works great.some people complain about the buttons. yes, i had a little difficulty with the power button and the volume rocker at first. however, after i wiggled the bumper around and got it into place, the buttons on the case worked fine. yes, it might take a little work at first. i got my wife the same case for the same phone. hers worked perfectly right off the bat; mine took some adjusting. don't give up on it too quickly if you can't get the buttons to work right away, just keep reinstalling it and wiggling it around.one complaint is that the cutout for the headphone/mic jack is a little small, so some plugs with bigger housings don't fit. ( if the cutout were any bigger, the case probably wouldn't work) however, that is a problem i have seen with pretty much _all_ cases. i think cable manufacturers just need to make more compact housings for 3.5mm / 1/8" plugs.anyway, in general, i give this case a big thumbs up.

Great case !
i went thru 4 different cases and they all went back for the exception of one ! i had bought this one from store i bought my phone but it cost $35 and just could not justify the price so took it back after a few days. Although i ended up liking it because the phone looked great as if nothing was there but the clear bumper a little. The back was a little too slick but the sides gripped ok. The case looks like it will protect the phone quite well. I ended up buying it again on Amazon for half the price and very happy with it ! its not a rubberized case by no means but a sophisticated looking case! Overall thumbs up.I kept the Spigen clear encapsulated case even though it's thick but offers the best protection and I also kept this one. I alternate between the two.

Way too shiny for my liking. Protection seemed minimal ...
Way too shiny for my liking. Protection seemed minimal but what you would expect from a case of this size.
