27” Halibut off the Wharf!
Instead of throwing out natural bait and waiting, this one took some technique. Everybody looks at me sideways when I cast this bait out, but it paid off last night with my biggest catch ever in a spot where catching fish this size is special. Before going home for the night, I decided on one more cast. I casted short, removed the slack, and jigged at 12/6 movements off the bottom. I would do short jerky movements followed with longer movements up, to letting it naturally sink.Like any other predator fish, I wanted to attract it with movement. About 2 minutes after my cast, the big one hit and I pulled it in with the assistance of a net.This lure is beautiful. Make sure to work it with good technique for a better result. Good luck!
