Logitech C920-C Webcam (Business Product) with 1080p HD Video Certified for Cisco Jabber

I run Ubuntu Linux 12.04. This camera works "plug-and-play" thanks to the UVC driver in Linux, similarly to the Logitech C910 and C920, each of which I have experimented with. I replaced my C910 with this camera for two reasons: the improved mic & support for in-hardware video decoding.The UVC H.264 encoding technology, when software can take advantage of it, is amazing. Currently, the state of the world is such that not much software actually does take advantage of it. For example, I primarily use the camera with Google+ Hangouts, and for that, it does not make use of built-in H.264, so still needs to spin my CPU doing encoding in the browser plugin. But if I use Skype, the H.264 support does work, and my CPU usage is under 5% when doing an HD Skype video call.This camera had two really nice touches. One was the manual lens guard. You slide across the top and the lens is covered. This is nice to keep the lens protected when not in use, and for me, especially when travelling with the webcam. The second nice touch is support for a tripod mount. I have a professional Canon tripod I use for photography that I am now considering using for livestreaming / recording events using this camera. I imagine this will work very well & in an excellent form factor.Overall, though the price is slightly steep, I couldn't recommend this camera more highly!

While there is no software that comes with the camera, it works with most programs. I have used it with Evocam, Gotomeeting and Livestream (on Mac) and worked great. Minus one star because the colors are pretty desaturated so you'll need to alter it in whatever software you're using.

Simply put, the quality on this camera blows all other webcams out of the water. It's not going to compete with a true DSLR pro setup, but it's probably as close as you will ever get at this price point. That's right-- I'm comparing it to DSLRs, not traditional webcams-- that's the level this thing is on.What I really like about this camera:- The stand is well built and surprisingly versatile. It has rubber backing so you can easily set it up to sit on top of your monitor without having to screw anything down-- and it stays in place. You can also tilt it to a bunch of different angles / setups and even screw it onto a stand if you wanted to.- Although I don't use the microphone on this thing (I have a dedicated setup for mics), I did try it out and the audio is pretty clear without being too sensitive to background noise. Used it a few times in audio calls and got no complaints. The fact that you get a mic "for free" is a pretty good deal.- The optics quality, again, are just awesome. The camera has good auto-focus and a low aperture to capture a lot of light, but that also means it creates that really nice looking depth of field effect when it focuses in on your face. The result is professional looking DSLR-type video that you just won't get on a conventional webcam.

Unless you're a company IT administrator, DON'T buy this particular cam. I came to find out that you don't have much control over some of the key features. This is why it's labled "Business Product," It's not for the individual users. There were certain features that I wanted to access only to be told to go to my IT admin for that. Yikes! Painful.Why am I blaming the cam? I'm not. I'm blaming Logitech. After various attempts to "unlock" some of the core capabilities of this camera, I gave up. Logitech would not budge. There is no firmware download or upgrade that will get you out of this one. They won't provide it even though they COULD. This is a "business" camera designed for bulk purchase by businesses and then managed by their IT departments. If you're looking for a cam for personal use, pick something else.

Video was horrible. People could not see my face well.

Nothing wrong here. The video is fine. The audio is...well, the audio is better than another cheap Logitech one I had, which kept compressing the sounds so it sounded like water running. I played guitar through it, and although the mics are not expensive mics, it could do if you are really lazy.But the point is that it works with my system. I have intell ASUS windows 10 machine which I upgraded from windows 8.1. I know some people were having problems with this thing, but I have none.It would be nice if it came with software - that is for sure. But I used Screen Cast Automatic and another one and it seemed fine. Also a Cisco conferencing thing worked fine.

Worked like a champ...... "I" have no problem with it as a tech .... it did what it was supposed to do. I didhave to return it to Amazon (under protest to my customer) but there was nothing wrong with it .... I liked it....the web site she wanted it for didn't support 1080p HD and even in returning the product to the companyand Amazon ..... the return and refund process was flawless. I am a customer forever.

I had an average little webcam prior to purchasing this and was more or less pleased with it. I happened to grab the C920-C when it was Amazon's Deal of the Day and I'm quite pleased that I did. It has a super wide angle lens for capturing nearly the entire office I'm in, the quality is pristine, and the setup was super easy. I use YouCam for my webcam software as Logitech either has no software or what they do have sucks. If you're going to invest in a camera like this, you might as well invest in some good webcam software, too. YouCam ran about $30, so put that into your calculations before you buy. Rad camera, though. I highly recommend it.

The camera in terms of hardware is ok.The SOFTWARE, which controls the camera is pathetic.

Auf Grund des Mangels an Rezensionen zu dieser optisch klasse und technisch wirklich sehr zufriedenstellenden Kamera habe ich mich entschlossen, einmal meine Erfahrungen der letzten Wochen mit diesem Produkt mitzuteilen.Probleme mit der Aufnahme oder der Benutzung in z.B. Skype habe ich unter Windows 10 an keiner Stelle. Ganz im Gegenteil ist die Kamera in Skype oder in Apps sofort da - dort habe ich schon von anderen Webcams eine längere Initialisierungsphase erlebt. Die Treiber installieren sich automatisch sodass sie in wenigen Minuten einsatzbereit ist. Da es sich bei der Kamera um die "Business"-Variante handelt kommt sie in einer sehr schlichten aber schönen Verpackung ohne weitere Software. Man muss sich also mit der Windowskamera-Software oder Alternativen aus dem Windows App Store begnügen. Für mich waren die Software Suits anderer Kameras aber selten sinnvoll.Zum Bild und Sound: Im Test war der Gegenüber sehr zufrieden sowohl mit der Audio- als auch mit der Bildqualität. Der Autofokus funktioniert sehr gut und reagiert äußerst schnell. Auch unter schlechten Lichtverhältnissen hat die Kamera ein vergleichsweise noch recht gutes Bild.Sehr praktisch finde ich auch die Möglichkeit, die Kamera durch einen integrierten Schieber zu verdecken.

Cette Webcam professionnelle n'a pas besoin de driver pour fonctionner. Le cache objectif est très utile pour moi qui travaille souvent à distance, et oublier de déconnecter Lync (ou skype) est vite arrivé. En fin de conversation, je mets le cache. Très bon produit Logitech
