Series Digital Pocket Weight Scale Backlit LCD Stainless-Steel Surface 100g x 0.01g, (Silver), AWS-100-SIL

I'm using this to measure out salt, sugar and other small amounts of ingredients for bread making. If it cost any more I'd say it was overkill. It only measures up to 70 g so the ingredient container needs to be significantly less that the 70 g. This rules out my Anchor Hocking measuring tumblers. A very small Glad plastic storage container works perfectly. I just tare out the weight of the container before adding ingredients to weigh. I'm new to baking and recently learned weight measurements are much more accurate than volume so I convert everything. My kitchen scale works fine for measuring out the flour, water and such but for anything below say 10 g then I needed something more responsive. This scale measures down to 0.01 g which is more accuracy than needed. The big advantage is you can see the numbers climb as you add tiny amounts of ingredients. My kitchen scale jumps a gram at a time. The build seems very quality. I'm surprised that for under $10 I could pick up such a decent product. I have a 50 g weight on the way to check the accuracy. Another overkill for my purposes but it appeals to my geek nature.

I can only remark for light use(not every day) but it seems like a decent little scale, it's accurate down to 20mg, which is good enough for what I need it for.

Has all the features as advertised and very easy to use. I love the tare weight feature that allows you to weigh the empty container and subtracts it from the total weight when weighing with contents. It does metric and imperial. The display is good and clear. It can weigh up to 1kg but the weighing area is very small, admittedly making it very compact! It is very accurate and you can use it to calculate US postage. Well worth every penny.

Preforms as designed

Perfect? Accuracy, precision, price, durability, ease of use, battery saving feature, battery life span, size, folding hard case, weight...in fact...everything about these scales is perfect. I bought two of them almost a decade ago, and they have been thoroughly abused and smacked around mercilessly, yet every time I calibrate them I find there was pretty much no reason to do so. They hold their calibration nicely, and are wildly precise. I just bought two more of them because the old ones are getting dirty and gross (all my fault), and at this price, retiring them to a backup role is an easy choice. I can't explain how happy I was to see that these were still available when I looked them back up. Based on other reviews, it seems the whole world also knows what I have discovered over the years. For me it's now AWS or nothing.

I love this item. It weighs out hundredths, was very cheap, and came perfectly calibrated. Good tip for checking if a scale is good is to put a nickel on it, should weigh out to 5 grams exact. Only issue I had was that it was prime and it took 3 days, otherwise the product itself was in perfect condition. I had ones of these before and it lasted my 5 years no problems (had to be calibrated once in those 5 years), only reason I got rid of it was that it got dirty. Decided to sell it to a friend and buy a new one (only $10 come on!)

American Weight has been my go-to scale for as long as I can remember! Tried and true for over 10 years! Quite durable as well, the place you need to worry about breaking is the hinges, and even then it needs to take a hit. Make sure you couple this purchase with some calibration weights as well! You really only need a 100G calibration weight, but having a good set is a nice investment. To calibrate, turn scale on, hold MODE until display reads "CAL", then tap MODE once more. The required weight for calibration will flash on the display *100G). Once the scale registers the 100G weight, it will then display "PASS", and then you're ready to rock and roll! Highly recommend their milligram scale also!

I have just received my scale and apart from the fact it looks nothing like the picture, it isn't silver it is black, it is also not the AWS-100-SIL as specified in the item description. It is a cheap replica with the model number HF-10. Will try to return it. After testing it with a 2p coin, which should weight around 7.12g, it gave a value of 7.03g which is completely wrong.

Excelente para medir con exactitud cantidades muy pequeñas de ingredientes. Mucho mejor que usar porciones de cucharaditas.
