Perfect for the complete experience with your bourbon, cognac, brandy, etc.
Top quality, almost crystal in nature. Perfect for your bourbon, rye, cognac, or brandy. Allows the liquid to breathe, gives you a great way to inhale your drink of choice before consuming it. While these might seem to be an affectation they're not. I'm very pleased with these glencairns and happy to have purchased them. And if you're giving the gift of a bottle and want something that goes with it perfectly? These will do the trick.

The only way to sample quality whiskey. I now own about 10 of these glasses. You wont use any other glass after using these for your spirits.the only way

They do, in fact, live up the hype
I am no master whisky taster, nor am I a snob. I'm a firm believer in whisky as an everyman's drink, but at the same time I appreciate it as a craft worthy of considerable study and capable of great nuance. How anyone chooses to enjoy it is up to the individual, and you'll get no argument from me on what you like and how you want to drink it. Want to mix Scotch, red wine, and orange juice together in a Collins glass with ice and chug in down? Cheers! Now, that said, when it comes to my own enjoyment of beverages, I'm very particular about glassware. I both love the material and appreciate what it can do for the senses. It all begins with the look, and the feel in the hand. Just as I like a delicate and tall fluted glass for a sparkling wine, I like a nice heavy glass when I drink spirits, just not something so overbuilt as to get in the way. For look a feel, I haven't yet found glassware I like better than the Glencairn for whisky. The heavy base lets it feel sturdy in the hand, while staying low on the table and letting you pick it up to look through the liquid without your hand getting in the way. The glass itself is elegant without being pretentious and overly complicated. In due time, I believe it will become far more commonplace and universally understood to be the unique glassware for whisky as recognizable as wine glasses are today. Besides being very attractive and unmistakably a glass for complex spirits and not anything else, the tulip shape above the base allows for a nice quick swirl, and concentrates the aromas for when you want to stick your nose in the glass, a nostril at a time so you don't overwhelm your sense of smell. There is a way to do this without being totally awkward, although it might take a bit of practice. I also recommend relaxing your jaw and keeping your mouth open while you do this, just a little bit. Depending on your sense of smell, you may or may not smell things you never have before in your favorite whiskies, but it is undeniable that the aroma is stronger in a glass of this shape. As the sense of smell is so important to how things taste, I would say that Glencairns are worth it on that basis alone. Drinking out of a Glencairn is not particularly social. You will be hard pressed to maintain eye contact with somebody across a table while you take a sip, which is arguably the biggest downside to a glass like this. The upside is that by breaking your eye line you are forced to concentrate more on the drink itself. The shape of the glass again aids in the flavor of the drink by directing aromas towards your nose as you drink from it. I won't pretend to know how the shape of the glass affects the flow of the liquid itself, or what, if any, benefit that might make. There are other attempts at an "official" whisky glass out there. I will leave it up to you to decide if any of them are better at enhancing the whisky-drinking experience, but knowing a thing or two about glass and how it's made, I expect the Glencairn to ultimately win more hearts and minds. For one, it is a very simple design, lending itself to easier manufacture and greater durability. Two, because of that simplicity, it is and will always be cheaper, thus will not be so easily painted as glassware for snobs, driving adoption by "regular" people. I fully expect that the Glaincairn will be widely imitated, with perhaps minor future variations improving it slightly. Clearly the Glencairn is a winner, and does exactly what it set out to do.

The best nosing and tasting glass.
This is the best whiskey nosing and tasting glass for a reason. The opening is rather small, but it’s big enough to get most noses into, and the small opening also allows you to swirl the whiskey without losing any of it. The small opening also allows the bourbon to concentrate its esters. I also have glasses from Reidel, and I do love the look of those glasses, but I like these much better. The six pack offers a great value, and that also allows me to set up some blind tastings. I like the thinness of the glass which allows an unobtrusive tasting of the whiskey. I had seen many bourbon tasting channels on YouTube which use this glass, so I was very excited to get it. When I first used it, I knew it was the right one. Everything about it just felt right.

Love these!
These are great quality, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Its very nice that they have the knob on the bottom to hold the glass so you're not warming the whiskey with the heat from your hand.

The old saying you get what you pay for rings true with this product .. and it is tempting to buy a six pack knock off, of The Glencairn Glass for only$39 Cdn but you will kick yourself afterwards for the poor quality imitation and throwing good money away .. I especially like that each glass has its own colorful well designed box that makes the shipping process much more secure and also makes a beautiful presentation if you would like to offer as a gift to someone special .. buy with confidence .. Slange!

The glasses are defective and flawed. Very poor quality as you can see from the photos. They are not genuine Glencairn brand but manufactured in China and are counterfeits.
