Follow the directions! I thought painting it before assembly would be good but it wasnt bc the pieces didnt slip easily into one another after painting. Also, be sure to put the strings through BEFORE you seal it shut. I thought I could work it through but I couldnt. All in all it was an intense workday for myself and grandkids but they turned out great. The downside was there was very little red strings . Other than that I pretty much liked the project but it took all day. I didnt mind but you have to have patients! Follow the order of the directions. Paint last!

This was so much fun to do with my 4 year old! We bought this to make one for my mom who loves bird houses. It was a great time bonding and she absolutely loved doing it. Was super easy to assemble and the perfect amount of paint to cover both of the bird houses. Worth the money for sure!

My 9 year old and I really enjoyed ourselves with this one! It was a fun project that brought us closer together and got our hands busy doing this other than being in electronics all day. What made this difficult was the lack of written instructions. You have to kinda guess your way through this process but it's not super hard but a child wouldn't be able to do it alone.

Gave as a Christmas gift last year and my nieces loved them. Super easy craft for kids, especially during the winter.

Each of the houses went together pretty well without any specific instructions. The wood itself is not very strong so using it as actual bird houses may not be feasible. However as a craft for younger children they really enjoyed it. We did find the tube of glue to be a little difficult to control the amount of glue that comes out for 4 and 6 year olds. Our biggest problem and reason for only three stars was the paint. HALF of the paint was dried out making them unusable. We couldn't tell until we opened each of the colors to find them dried out making them unusable or that the container actually only had the dried color on the plastic making us think paint was there. Unfortunately we had put the houses together before we opened the paint and learned there were limited colors left. Definitely not enough to complete 2 houses and too late to ask for more since we were in the middle of the project. With missing paint, we ended up waiting until the paint they could use dried and used markers to fill in their designs. If you purchase these for the craft houses themselves and are okay with supplemental paint or decorations, these may work well.

These are so fun!! My 2 year old (with supervision) and 5 year old had a blast making these. We hung them up on our porch and we love hearing the windchimes. Everything was in the box, super easy to put together and it was great quality. I think the only thing that could have been better was the glue, it wasn't a sticky as I would have liked. But the strings help it stay together. Super cute!
